ATA Auto Services really helped me out in a tight spot this past week. My car overheated on the highway and so I took the nearest off ramp to the nearest parking space, and I was completely out of my element and very scared. I don't know anything about cars, and I was 400 miles away from home. I'm so glad ATA was the nearest auto service! Within walking distance of where I'd parked, I was offered an honest opinion, experienced help, a great price on a quick fix, and they threw in extra supplies to help me in case my car started to overheat again. I could not recommend this place more. They are just wonderful.

I failed the Illinois Emission Test. I took my Bentley to a performance shop to be repaired. They quoted me $3,927.00 to replace the catalytic converter. I call Bentley Gold Coast and spoke to the service manager and explained my situation. He said no problem that component is covered by a 8 year / 80,000 mile warranty. He sent a flat bed and picked up my Bentley and installed the catalytic converter - all done at no charge. I had my Bentley back in 2 days. I recommend them to everyone I know. I had purchased a groupon ($149) for front and rear brakes 3 weeks ago. He texts me saying that I would also need to replace the rotors. I was a little hesitant and should have listened to my gut but I went ahead go the rotors replaced for $265. Then he sends me pictures saying that I need to replace my ball joints. I said another time. Fast forward to one week later and I am hearing a squeaking noise. He says give it some time to adjust and that most likely it is my parking brakes. I called another mechanic and inquired about this and he informs me that the parking brake could and should have been done with the original brake/rotor replacement and it would have been cheaper as Landspeed wants to charge me $180. I gave it two weeks and the noise progressed. When I brought it in he took it for a test drive and tells me that he is going to replace the rotors and brakes again as well as the job on the parking brakes. I ask why and he tells me because of needing the parking brake. Well, two days later I hear another squeaking noise and grinding noise. I thought it was because of the ball joints he stated I needed to replace. So, I again contacted the other mechanic and brought it in. He takes a look at my car and takes it for test drive and lets me know that the balljoints are perfect, NO NEED TO REPLACE THEM. Then this is the worst part, he tells me that the brake job that Landspeed did was done extremely poorly as well as the brakes and rotors were warped. I gasped considering that I just replaced them three weeks ago. I took pictures and everything and now have to replace the rotors and brakes in the front. I am so upset because as much as I would want to go back and make him do the job over again, that is not going to happen.

Great mechanics showed me all my before and after stuff, showed me my new parts and showed me pictures of when the intake was removed, very very clean mechanics as far as work ethics . Would not go anywhere else. Thanks you guys for being a blessing to me

Brought my car in due to over heating. Paid close too $700 and my car is still overheating.

Never again , Tried to buy tires off Ebay from them , but would not accept payment from them , had to go to their shop to pay for them , plus Chicago , and State tax to boot . Asked to see the DOT code to see if these were indeed "New" tires as advertised , was not allowed or shown them before work was done .Asked for estimate on how much this was going to cost me , total Price of the So called 4 "New" tires mount , balance, disposal fee ..etc...went on deaf ears and work was performed with out my authorization anyway . After it was done , I look at my receipt and it says " Used Tires" , I questioned it and was told they are "New" but made sometime in 2014. That is not a " New" tire by me ... I just hope and pray that I did not get some altered , used , abused, blemished, damaged , or only God knows what else tires , that will be GARBAGE , after their ever so gracious and kind , 90 day warranty , which was not explained to me what if anything is warranted . Going back to the DOT codes on the tires , I can not even tell when they were made because the third oval that contains the Manufacturing date is missing .... I spent good , hard earned money on a product that isn't even what is advertised on Ebay , Buyer beware on what these people sell , I am taking the car ( my daughters by the way ) to a Goodyear store to have them check out these " New" tires and see if they can guess how old they are and if they are any good , For if they are not deemed any good, by the fine folks at Goodyear .... BACK THEY GO .... and then I contact the BBB , news people and anyone else who will listen . So like I said ....Never again , and Buyer Beware , you don't know what you are going to get from this establishment .

This shop is under new management and he is a real jerk. He talks alot and really fast and treats customers like their bumbling idiots. I use to always take my car to this location for service...but not anymore. After my oil change, my car smelled like it was burning. I took it back and he just raised the hood and looked at it and said "it smells like a regular car to me". Then he dropped the hood and walked away and started talking to someone else...treating me like I was garbage. The 'check engine light' came on that same night I went to work!!! I had another mechanic check it the next day......I was told I needed a tuneup. The thing is...I got a tuneup 6 months ago from this same CARX!!! When I called the manager and told him, he tried to say that they didn't give me a tuneup...he tried to talk his way out of it but it's right there in the computer. He's a real prick. Then he tried to say it could be anything...as if the other mechanic AND the OEM reading are inaccurate. DO NOT go to this Car X location. They're overpriced and the service sucks.

I unfortunately have mixed reviews, but I will be honest. I had been a customer for over 6 years prior to the new management. Most every repair (brakes, tune-up or radiator) the service was initially great. Now that the management has merged, the customer service and technical repairs standards has significantly decreased. My last experience before leaving dealt with a radiator replacement in my wife's 2005 vehicle. I ordered and paid for a brand new factory radiator, new hoses and thermostat. About 2 months after the repair I started having the same recurring problem (overheating) before the repair. I approached the manager and from that point on, I could not get the repair issue resolved. I could never get them to provide me the old radiator or resolve the overheating problem that almost caused my engine and transmission to overheat. I pulled the radiator out on my own and noticed that the radiator had never been replaced and they put several containers of "Stop Leak" pellets in. I have not been back to Mufflers for Less since. My advice, make sure you have confidence in the repair facility and always ask to see your old parts that they have replace (photos of the work shown are good pieces of evidence as well). I went to Velasquez Mufflers & Brakes at the above location on Monday, July 23, 2018. VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY poor service. I waited 5 hours for them to look at my car. Five hours!!! I have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata I brought in because of a rattling noise in the suspension. Not only they made me wait for five hours, they falsified the information. They informed me I needed two lower control arms at $280.00 each and sway bar links, struts, and sway bar bushings which I had to purchase at the dealership. However; they were willing to replace the 2 lower controls arms which I later found out I did not need. Had a second opinion at Car X and was informed I needed new bolts and pins only. I am convinced that Velasquez Mufflers tried to rip me off! Needless to say, Car X is repairing my vehicle. By the way, Car X took only 3 !/2 hours to repair my vehicle, which included the wait time.
