I called after being recommended from a work associate to have him work on my BMW. It took him a week to diagnose the problem (broke the timing chain and bent the valves). After this he says he has to eemove the head and send it off to be machined. It took him another week of only showing up part time to get the head off and get it to Schmidt automotive on the east side of Indy (which is an who ended up repairing Sparks mistakes). Once the head got back it took about a week and a half for him to get it back on my car. I got a call while at work that my car was finished so as soon as I got home I hopped into it and started it up and it sounded funny, put it in gear and it stalls time and time again. I call Sparks and tell him what's going on and he blames it on me! Says I must have broke it again pulling out of a parking space!! I tell him he has a warranty and he refuses to honor any of the warranty!!!! He then curses at me over and over telling me that I messed it up. I gave him a day and called back to see what he planned on doing to fix this and he just curses at me again! I called Schmidt to come pick the car up and lete know what's wrong and how much it's going to cost to fix it... Turns out that Sparks is an idiot and installed the head with a the valves open and my #6 cylinder at TDC!!!!! He just torqued the head on and forced it on damaging both the piston and re-bending my brand new valves! I called him again with the report from Schmidt telling him that the mechanics agreed that the only way this could have possibly happened was from improper installation... Sparks cursed at me again and refused to do anything about it. Stay away from this guy at all cost! I ended up paying out for the repair twice costing over $4k. USE A REPUTABLE MECHANIC!!!

Only place I take my car for any kind of service. Reliable, knowledgeable, and proportional turnaround time for the service provided. All the staff is super friendly also!!

These guys are the best. My dad used then and got great service back in the day. Glad they continue with great honest service. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Big thanks to Dave, John, Andrew and the whole gang.

Our family had the same auto mechanic for the past 35 years until recently. He was the owner of a small auto repair shop located in Indianapolis, Indiana. We trusted him to make needed repairs and we never needed to use any dealer repair shops. As a result of his recent retirement I took my Lexus to Butler Toyota to be repaired. I was told that a wire needed to be repaired and due to the vehicle sitting for a while the gas tank, fuel pump, fuel filter and send unit needed to be replaced at a cost of approximately $2100.00. I was told the cost of the gas tank was $800.00 but one could not be located new or used. I found that hard to believe and purchased a used OEM gas tank, fuel pump and send unit in Texas for $200.00 and had it shipped directly to Butler Toyota. It was requested thar all replaced parts be placed in the trunk of the vehicle for the purpose of recycling. When the vehicle was picked up there was no replaced gas tank, no fuel pump and no fuel filter. The only replaced part in the trunk was a send unit. Numerous telephone calls were made regarding the replaced parts but my calls were never returned. I was told that connections to the wireing harness had to be altered. I find this hard to believe due to the parts being OEM. After paying Butler Toyota $1100.00 and returning home it was discovered the right passenger door was dented. The vehicle is operational for now but at the cost of ever trusting the huge dealer repair shops again. It appears to be all about the dollar and not about true customer service.

I came in with specific information about my problem. I don't believe they took the honest time to address my issue. My problem was intermittent stalling and what they told me was all this stuff about fluid leaks and other services that they recommended and charged me $258 for that. I went somewhere else and told them the same thing and the tech knew the problem without looking at it and he was right! He didn't charge me a dime! I'll never go back there or recommend anyone else!

DON’T EVER GO TO BLACK FOREST MOTORS! Our Audi has been in the shop for over 2 years now and Keith Lynem has refused to call back when asked to every week that we call and every phone call he used to say yeah it’ll be ready next week and next week turned into next month to 2 years and still no phone call that an “alleged” auto repair is supposed to call with any updates. After telling him over the phone that it’s been 2 years he says there’s no way and it will be ready in a couple of days but we have all the paperwork from a rental used so it will come back to bite him. This is no adult because of the childish behavior exhibited because of filing with the Better Business Bureau so he hides behind that desk of his and sends our phone calls straight to their voicemail. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH KEITH LYNEM OR BLACK FOREST MOTORS!!!
