Engine repair service near Akers, LA

On October 30th we arrived in New Orleans in a BMW M6 with AC and brake problems. After reading the lousy reviews of the dealer, on a whim ( this was a Sunday afternoon) I caller Raz at Briskers and surprise... he answered the phone. I told him about my problems and he said to bring it over and he would look at it. This was important as we only planned to be in New Orleans for 3 days, leaving Wednesday AM. He diagnosed the problems, we left the car and Tuesaday noon the car was ready. Professionally done. If I lived in NOLA he would be the only place I went for my srevice. Great service, great guy. I have been knowing of and using Diagnostic Auto Repair since the 1980s. Rikey and Paul have been and remain in business in Laplace for a simple reason. These guys know what they are doing and are the best I have found who explain the service or repairs you need and why and do the job right. Being a retired mechanic and auto collector and enthusiast all my life, I know. It is extremely hard for me to let anyone touch my vehicles as I used to do most of my own repairs and for my friends and family until I became disabled in 2006. But I would bring the jobs too big for me to handle to Diagnostic with confidence. Well since I have no choice now, I trust only one auto shop in the area. Tye has been repairing my car for over 15 years. He always treated me fairly and I've never had to worry when I leave my car with him. I trust his judgement on what repairs need to be done. He's great at fixing only what needs to be repaired. I recommend his to all of my family members and neighbors and they have been really happy with him. I highly recommend him to everyone.

I brought my car in to get fixed and as I was explaining the issue to the mechanic his phone rang. While I was talking, without saying "excuse me I need to take this" or "can you hold on a minute" he picks up the phone and just walks away. After I waited for a couple of minutes thinking surely he is coming back , he never came back and never apologized. It was as though he wanted me to leave and that is exactly what I did. How unprofessional! On top of that when we got the car back from them it was worse than it was before! The owner said he would have someone look at it the next day and it was been three days and still have heard nothing! They don't communicate with you about the problems with your car and they pretend as though they did nothing wrong. I do not suggest this shop to anyone.

Always said I wanted to write a review when I'm satisfied.. This shop was the best price and easiest to work with. They told me how much and how long and it cost and took the amount of time they said. Never rude always very nice. Been coming here for 12yrs and always have been up front with me. Jimmy is the owner, his father was Jerry since has passed..Has been in VW repair business for over 40 years....He was a pleasure to deal with, and an expert mechanic on vintage VW's! Honest, and trustworthy...Replaced shorted harness, headlamp switch, fuse buss bar, with OEM Volkswagon parts! In addition, replaced a leaking gasket exhaust gasket...Job took about a day to complete, and final price was very reasonable. Jimmy is a good guy!
