I was at Star market on Mt. auburn street, walking distance from Vahe’s garage. They were very busy, but he sent his assistant to help me. After 15 minutes, we couldn’t get the door unlocked. Then Vahe came out himself and spent more time until he got the door open. He was so kind, and competent, then he wouldn’t let me pay.

Under The Massachusetts used car Warranty Law that was displayed in the vehicle at the time of purchase the dealer is required by law to fix the problem or issue a refund. Bob acknowledged that there was a problem with the steering. He tried to diagnos and fix the problem but was unable to.So he offered a refund/ buy-back I accepted. Bob said he would only honor the buy-back under one condition that I agreed to sign a "Confidentiality Agreement" I have since tried to contact Bob in an attempt to resolve problem. He refuses to respond. I've tried by phone and mail. Now my only recourse is to contact the Attorney Generals Office Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation under The used car Warranty Law a consumer can request a state certified arbitrator to decide the case.

This morning, he was on his way to a job interview in Boston when his car began to overheat and died. He got as far as Cambridge. Needless to say, he was panicked on a number of levels. Being from NY and not knowing anyone locally, he called me in NY and I immediately did a Google search for local repair shops. I cross checked against Yelp and Google reviews and found a number of positive reviews about Vahe's Garage. Being generally skeptical, I called and spoke to Vahe the owner (pronounced Vah-hee) directly and told him about the symptoms. I told him that it sounded like a thermostat problem to me and asked what a repair like that would cost. He said let's look at the car first because maybe he just needs coolant. My son got the car to Vahe's Garage. Vahe could have told me it needed a thermostat, or that it needed a water pump, or that there was a hole in the radiator and needed a radiator, or something even worse and taken real advantage of my son and the situation. Instead, he told him the car merely was very low on coolant and the fan wasn't spinning. He filled the radiator with coolant and got the fan spinning again and had my son on his way. But wait - he didn't charge him anything!! What kind of mechanic is that gracious and that honest. I'll tell you what kind - only the best kind. I would strongly recommend this gentleman and this place for all your car needs. Thank you Vahe for helping out a helpless college kid. I am in your debt.
