For the past few years now, I have trusted "Narragansett Auto Repair" with my car (and my wallet)! The two people to talk with there are Dan and Donna. Dan is the owner and I've enjoyed watching him as both the "boss" and a mechanic and on that rare occasion when he and his employees are stumped with a diagnosis, he is humble enough to turn elsewhere for input. They are all the kind of persons that I want to give me an estimate, to work on my car and to be trusted to tell me when something needs maintenance or just needs to be fixed. I highly recommend to anyone who owns a foreign or domestic car, that they pay Dan a visit and see for themself!

On 11/13/2012 I dropped of my 2003 Ford Escape to Cape Auto Body & Service in Plymouth, MA to diagnose two cylinders that were skipping. Although I do 99% of my own mechanical work, I have been using this company for probably close to 15 years on the rare occasion I do need an outside service company. On 11/14 Cape Auto called and told me when the job was complete. They also told me my valve cover gaskets were leaking and needed to be replaced. I got the vehicle back on the 14th and worked on it myself on the next day to replace these gaskets. In doing so, I found the threads stripped for the #4 cylinder spark plug. I called Jim, one of the service managers, and he denied that they even touched this cylinder. Now for some background. First, I am certified for numerous brands of engines ranging from air cooled small engines to diesel engines rated at excess of 1,000 horsepower. I personally changed the spark plugs in this engine on Oct. 3, 2012 and torqued them as I always do for plugs going into an aluminum head. Usually when removing plugs set in my engines, I can easily do this with a 3/8” drive ratchet. When I needed to remove the “only two plugs” Cape Auto replaced, I needed to use my 1/2” drive ratchet because they were way over torqued!!! Jim claims that he worked with the mechanic on my engine the entire time and that the mechanic never touched any other plug except the two new ones. As I previously mentioned, I have been using this company for many years and have observed Jim (and the other service managers) these times I've visited. They do NOT hover over their mechanics doing their work. As a matter of fact, the desks they work at face the opposite wall of the service garage giving them no possibility of seeing the actual work being done unless they physically stand over their mechanic's shoulders. And, if Jim had been watching his mechanic closely, how did he let him/her over torque the “only two” spark plugs they claimed to have touched??? At this

All Pro Quick Oil Change

PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS! I just came from there and they ripped me off pretty good. Let me explain... I went there with a $5 off coupon printed from their website with my wives car. A Tech met me in the waiting room and I told him I wanted an oil change and had the coupon. He said that the coupon would take $5 off the price of $29.95 and asked if I would like them to look at anything else...I said no, just the oil change. After it was done, he came into the waiting room, told me it was all set and went to back 'office'. I followed and watched through the opening as he was on the computer. After he was done, he told me I owed him $67.95. I was in total disbelieve and asked him why it was so much. He told me that according to the computer, that car had synthetic oil the last time it was brought in. I asked him why he put synthetic oil in without asking me first and he said that it was policy to put in what was last done. I told him we talked about the $29.95 oil change and he should have asked if I wanted synthetic first. He just reiterated what he said previously and offered to take the oil out of the car. Can you believe this? What a crock. I told him to forget about it and paid the bill. As I was walking to the car, I told him that they should put a different sticker on the car to differentiate between synthetic or regular oil...as I looked at the sticker, knew it was time for a change and never knew it had synthetic in it. He then told me that I just reminded him that he made a 'mistake' on new the sticker...only adding 3k miles for the next oil change. I found this peculiar and asked him if he really did put synthetic in...he said he did. It then occurred to me that he NEVER left the garage while I was waiting... I told him that he never came in to look at the computer so how did he know it had synthetic in it last time...no answer. I then asked him to prove to me that the car had synthetic oil in it and he said he coul

My keys and phone were locked in the car so I couldn’t call AAA. I was at Star market on Mt. auburn street, walking distance from Vahe’s garage. They were very busy, but he sent his assistant to help me. After 15 minutes, we couldn’t get the door unlocked. Then Vahe came out himself and spent more time until he got the door open. He was so kind, and competent, then he wouldn’t let me pay.

Today I used their auto repair shop for service on my car. My stepdad typically does all my mechanical work on my car but, he has since moved to another state so I need to fen for myself. I called Nissan and was quoted $289 for an oil change, tire rotation, oil filter and general check up. I printed out the maintenance sheet for the milage on my car and gave it to the mechanic at Woodside, who had also called Nissan to verify the service requirements for my mileage. When I picked up my car and saw the invoice for $76 I was ecstatic. They fulfilled all the checkpoints on the maintenance sheet from Nissan for a third of the price. Amazing small business service and customer service. Keep the small businesses around and it works out for everyone.

theCARS Company, as mentioned by other reviewers, deserves 5 star ratings across all boards. Service is extremely quick (usually takes a couple hours for normal maintenance; few minutes for an oil change) and fairly priced. They have appointments open constantly and 'reservations' are easy to make. In terms of quality, I have been in there twice--once because my 'check engine' light lit up and the other for the 45,000 mile routine maintenance--and the results couldn't have been better. Problems are discovered quickly and solutions are provided even faster. What sets theCARS Company apart from any other car shop I've been to is their customer care. Point in case: recommending a cheap buff-and-polish job for the many bumps and scratches on my car as opposed to an extremely expensive paint job. Need another example? They offer discounts and coupons constantly. They don't hide them from you. In fact, make sure to politely ask if they have any available and they will respond honestly. Believe me, they've got your back and they're looking to protect your wallet. They seem genuinely interested in your best interest and not on making a quick buck. Very professional, well-organized, and reasonable prices: what else could you ask for?

Wilder Brothers Tire is the most honest and reliable car shop that I have ever encountered. I have been there three times in the last year with mine and the wife's car having been quoted prices of $300-$6000 by Lexus and another repair shop. In each case Wilders inspected the cars and either fixed the minor problems for $100 or free, but most importantly, their honesty saved us from being ripped off by others.
