The customer service is excellent, the mechanics are very knowledgeable and honest. They initially told me that there was nothing wrong, they called me later on after they had done their homework and said that they had figured out what the problem was, they also told me that if I had any other issues to bring it back to them in a heartbeat.

I was planning to go on a business trip to NY and had a couple of issues with my 10 year old (but reliable) car. My sister suggested American Brake in Stoughton, where she takes her car. Tony and staff was not only friendly and extremely professional but great and fast service. My car was ready for the long drive and I felt more secure behind the wheel after they did the repair and performed their "Pre-trip Check Up"

I started going to Kevin's years ago on the recommendation of my former repair guy, who retired. All I asked for was a good mechanic who was fair and trustworthy (a lot to ask for these days, eh?) Kevin fits the bill on all the requirements. He works his butt off to get jobs done on time and charges very fair prices. Even more importantly, he stands by his work. Terrible place, stay away they will tell you to give them money to buy you new parts but will end up buying old parts and also fixing some of the old parts so that they can keep as much of your money as possible. Besides using old parts they do a terrible job fixing your car. Stay away from this place. You’ve been warned. Everyone there looks shady.

Horrible Service. Originally I told them my car is making a noise and I had just had my rotors and brakes done. It was clearly metal rubbing together. Simple thing to check but because I'm a women they attempted to take advantage of me. They tried to tell me my brakes were cheap until I said I got them from the dealership. They tried to tell me I need a part replaced that I don't. I waited for an hour and was never told what they were going to do or how much it was going to be. I only asked that he tell me what the noise was. After an hour and having the owner in the office with me and then slip away, without a word. The mechanic says it sounds better, I was told to charge you x amount of dollars. But they didn't do ANYTHING! I called the owner and all he could say was it's for what they did but couldn't say what they did. I refused to pay and surely as a drove away my car was just as loud as when I came in. Total waste of time. A bunch of snakes.

Make sure to take physical pictures of everything that is broken or needs repair that you’re already aware of, prior to bringing your vehicle into this shop. They will exploit those damaged/failing parts and cause further damage to them. It seems to be part of a ploy to generate revenue for their shop because they will then try to get you to make the repairs there. Don’t expect any accountability either…. They seem to have temporary amnesia when confronted about damage that they were clearly responsible for. Alan Symmes and company - stop believing that each customer that steps foot in your shop, is as naïve as you paint them to be. These are the types of mechanics that will pull the bait and switch on you, if presented with the opportunity…. You know, replacing your new parts in working condition with used/failing parts to swindle honest customers out of their own money.
