RUN!!!!!! RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!! * REAL CUSTOMER REVIEW * Don't be tricked by the good reviews on this website like I was. I won't try to convince you that they are bad; I will just tell you what happened, and let you the consumer decide. I brought my car into the shop to have some oil leaks sealed. I thought that the price was amazing, and hey what's the worst that could happen? The FIRST TIME I came to pick it up my car, it had been turned from a smooth ride into a lawnmower (metaphorically speaking). I was devastated because the shops owner had told me how great their star mechanic was. I was also confused because earlier that day the owner called, and told me the car was ready. I'm no expert mechanic but anyone who thought this car was ready should have their license revoked. The car rumbled, shook, and shifted funny. Please keep in my mind none of these things happened before this shop touched it. I called the manager who said that they would take another look at it. I was so upset because my car was ruined. I left the car with them, and prayed that the car would be better the next time. The SECOND TIME I came up there the car didn't raddle anymore but now my steering wheel was loose, and shook from side to side. I don't have to tell you how dangerous driving with a broken steering wheel is. I called the manager and insisted that the steering wheel be fixed because why should I have to deal with that if I didn't do it. The following morning I checked under the car and noticed that after $900.00 ($876.00 to be exact) I still had a leak under my car (a puddle to be exact). I took the car in that day and left it with them. About a week and a half had passed by this time; and needless to say this was slowly turning into a nightmare because i was out of almost $900.00 and had no car. My daughter missed a week of school, and I had to drive my girl's car. The THIRD TIME they told me the car was finished

I recently took my Mercedes to this shop for repair because after owning the car for 12 years, I am tired of the pretentious attitudes and high prices of the dealership service department. API is a great alternative. The people who work at API are familiar with Mercedes cars, have the right tools to service them, and are able to get the right parts. Most importantly, they are friendly and make their customers feel valued. I plan to continue taking my car to API for future service needs!

My Volvo broke down near their station and I had my car towed there for repair. Unfortunately the car was not worth fixing but fortunately I came across a great service station. I've since purchased a used Subaru and have had it there for service and couldn't be happier. Brian Ben and their staff are excellent mechanics and extremely honest. If you are looking for a repair shop don't hesitate to give them a chance you will be very happy. Mark V.

STEER CLEAR! Sunoco 9395 Baltimore National Pike! I took my Honda in to have a diagnostic run on why the engine light was on. I worked a full day and walked back over after work to get a run down on what was wrong. The service guy went through a list of 4 items that needed to be done on the car - 1 was urgent, 3 were not. I went through the list one-by-one with him and confirmed my wish to hold off on the 3 non-urgent items. He confirmed that they would perform the 1 urgent repair, that they had been able to flip the engine light off (no explanation given), and that it would be ready in the morning. I went over to get my car the next day at lunch. The invoice was $572. higher than we had discussed. I immediately asked for an explanation, which seemed to annoy him. It turns out that they had completed one of the non-urgent repairs that I had explicitly said NOT to do. He knew this; he wrote it down when we discussed it. Not only had they done work I told them not to do, but their solution to the situation was for them to keep my car another day and reverse the work they'd done. Because I wouldn't need my car? Seriously. That was as creative of a solution as they could manage. Clearly this particular Sunoco is not interested in retaining long-term customers. I will drive back to my old mechanic now even though he is a half hour away since I moved. I was hoping that I could make a good neighborhood contact. I was wrong. They had my wife in tears. Very sad and terribly uncomfortable transaction

Went there on Oct 16, 2015 for a simple oil change, have already filed with the BBB, car was running fine, told me I needed a qt of transmission fluid, I said fine, the minute I left the car began bucking, that was a Friday, please also note I am a female, on Saturday really didn't drive much as my son took me to PA in his car but when I did in the early am still the same problem, bucking and not shifting appropriately. On Sunday took the car to Walmart, much worse, it actually shut off, check engine light came on, cruise control light came on, had to turn off car, wait, gingerly start back up and ease my way back home. I called my mechanic. He came over. Let's start with the fact that I was 1 1/2 quarts low on oil (2 days after an oil change) and my transmission fluid was bone dry), he put 2 1/2 quarts of transmission fluid in, told me to go to work the next day have the guys pull it in the shop and hook it up to see if it throws any codes and then go over it with a fine tooth comb. See what Charm City didn't know is that I really hate to bother my mechanics for an oil change so I go there, but I've been working with mechanics for 16 years, so they pulled my car in the shop went over it and still had to add another quart of transmission fluid. My certified mechanics have told me that either charm city pulled the transmission plug and drained the tranny fluid or they used a fluid evacuator, when I confronted the owner who took offense to my language and really who wouldn't be pissed, he could have blown up my transmission..he lied, he said a fluid evacuator takes an hours...sorry bud....5 to 8 minutes....his mechanic lied and said he put 6 quarts of oil in my car...first off...why would you put 6 quarts when you only need to put 5 and you didn't put 5...liar...I don't care that you've been in business for 26 years, you saw a female coming in who never uses you for service and you thought you could get some service work from me, so you drained my tranny fluid and then had the gall to ask why I didn't come back, because you are untrustworthy, BEWARE ONE AND ALL. I have 2 certified mechanics that will testify to my story. This place needs to be investigated!!!!

I used to love going to this repair shop; the employees were knowledgeable and so friendly! They recently changed ownership and staff, but I thought I would give them a try since the location is so convenient, so I took my car in for a routine oil change. The mechanic gave me a list of about $1,400 worth of other issues he found—there was a leak in the oil pan (which I had noticed but thought it was minor) and the check engine light wouldn’t turn off (an issue that I told him the car dealership itself couldn’t fix and said wasn’t really a problem), among other things. I didn’t think anything was very urgent, but the district manager of the shop guaranteed the repairs for at least a year, so I told them to go ahead. One week later, the oil leak had gotten worse and the check engine light was back on. I tried to get in touch with the district manager, but after repeated calls and leaving my number at the desk, I still didn’t hear back. I took my car back to be repaired again. When I picked it up the second time, my car made a strange rattling noise when I accelerated. I went right back to the shop and the mechanic worked on it for half an hour and offered me a quick test drive to let me check if it was okay. I tried to ask what he thought had happened, he said we should make sure it was fixed, then he’d explain. So I drove around for about ten minutes and went back to get an explanation on what had happened, but I found that the mechanic and the cashier had locked up for the night and gone home. Weeks later, the leak still hasn’t been fixed and I have yet to hear back from the distract manager about his false promises. I have wasted entirely too much time and money at this shop. Nothing will convince me to return, and I recommend you save yourself the frustration and find another shop.

I wanted to wait to see how the repairs I received here worked out. Good news! My car is still running great. My car broke down nearby this place and I limped in to their parking lot and left the key in the drop box. They have a website that shows that they accept overnight and weekend vehicles, which was a reason why I dropped my car off there. I lucked out, because these guys did a great job. They were very clear about what was wrong when they called me, and they gave me good advice about the timing belt being changed. It's been a few long driving trips and my car is still running well and not overheating. They did a great job and if I lived closer to them, I'd take my car there again. John Kennedy

My vehicle has broken down 3 times since I had work done at this shop! They claimed to have fixed the problem yet I just returned from getting Antifreeze to fill my radiator after my lower hose popped off an hour away from home! Thank goodness I was around a mechanic who was kind enough to help me or I would have been up a creek! Stay away if you don't want the hassle. Very Dissatisfied!

Overall a great place to go. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else. That said, they WILL up-charge you signifcantly to change your engine and cabin air filter. The guy said that to change a cabin air filter, it takes 30 minutes to access the filter itself, thus necessitating a charge of $50 for parts and labor. I knew that was patently false, as it can be easily accessed on my vehicle (2013 Accord) through the glove compartment, which unhinges without any tools. I bought the same cabin air filter from NAPA auto parts for $15 and installed it myself. Essentially the same speech was given for the engine air filter, and I did the same thing. BLUF: Know about how much something should cost and how easy the job is to do it.
