I have been looking online for a Ford Explorer for the past 3 months. I currently have a 2006 sedan, but with a 1 year old- an upgrade was nessary; also considering my sedan was climbing in miles. I found Reed Bros. online, and being from that area, I knew where they were. I had also found a few in Frederick and Annapolis with lower prices. Needless to say, I ended up test-driving the 2004 Ford Explorer, it ran fine- only the brakes (roaters) needed to be replaced (a little shakey when you use the brake) I mentioned this to the sales man, Tim and he said he would drive it that evening to verify this problem and have it in the shop if it was nessary. I went back 2 days later and while I was there the Explorer was in their shop on the lift and when I finally got it, they had put BRAND new roaters on all four wheels. Although this was an inspection issue and they may have been required by law to do so, I was pretty impressed by the speedy process. I drove off the lot yesterday with this Explorer and the brake problem is non-existant. The Explorer runs great! and I absolutely love it for me and my family. The only complaint I would have is the sales department was slow when I walked in ready to buy. Also, when the sales man was putting LESS THAN A QUARTER tank of gas in the truck, the cas gap "was missing". I had to purchase one at Koons Ford for $34.00, but they did reemburse me right away. I felt like he could have helped out a little when he went to get the truck gas. It would have made me happy for at least a half tank. Other than that, my truck comes with a 3 month/3,000 mile powertrain warranty. They did help also with the price (keep that in mind). I would reccomend, but check everything, if something doesnt feel right, TELL them, it could be replaced at no cost to you because of Maryland Inspection laws. Tim was my sales associate and very down-to-earth man.
