I been a customer here for 27yrs. They will always take care of you like family. They actually fix the issues that need fixing. And won’t tag on extra stuff to make money off you. Then will advise on things that will need some help in the future. A true business of integrity and caring.

I brought a car in for a fuel tank leak and did not specify a budget. Weeks go by and I finally call and get someone on the phone. They inform me the repair won't be pretty because it's an old michigan car and suggests a patch job. I would like the repair but if a patch gets me back on the road then cool. Nope. 2 months later I finally get someone on the phone who tells my they "aren't gonna be able" to fix my car. I flatbed it home and fine no attempt at either the repair or the patch job they suggested themselves. 0 stars. Fecken 0.

I have been here twice. Once for muffler service and once for A/C service. I have not been disapointed in any way. I can't say that about a couple of other places I have been (and will never go back to).

I had this shop replace a wheel bearing on a Toyota pick up, they charged me 500.00. 20,000 miles later it failed, so I brought it back. They fixed it AGAIN and charged me another $500.00. The second time they worked on it, they said the axle was "worn out". Anyone with any mechanical sense knows that solid rear axles don't "wear out", bearings do though. I believe there may have been an issue with the axle when they worked on it the first time but instead they ignored it and put it back together. The second time they worked on it, I sourced an axle and they installed the wheel bearings. 15,000 miles later the same wheel bearing went bad AGAIN. This tells me that they screwed it up again. I went and bought all the equipment needed and just did the job myself, something that is obviously above their skill level. the following link is a Youtube video that shows how a wheel bearing is done on a Toyota pick up, perhaps they can watch it and get some training and do the job right someday for someone else. https://youtu.be/AVhSDnw2ugo

On this site for another reason, but see no one has written a review for the best auto repair shop in Kzoo. Have been their customer for over 30 years (moved out of town 10 years ago). When I was poor, they kept my car running, i.e. I could get another 500 miles from the brakes, etc. Then as I could afford later, they fixed everything I needed, quickly, efficiently. Not once did I feel they recommended something I didn't really need, we had a great relationship. This is a great shop with great people doing the work. I got to know the owners personally and just wish Kalamazoo was a little closer to Haslett, Mi, where I live now. I would gladly drive 50 miles to have them do my work. You can't go wrong taking your car here, they will treat it as though they were the owner. Marge McM

Perks Auto Parts and Salvage

Do not purchase a car through this business. My mother and I purchased a car from Perks auto parts and salvage and had them put an engine in it . After I received the car it lost 3 quarts of oil in under a months time I was told to send it back to them so they could look at it. He kept the car for a month and a half without doing anything other than driving it and then got rude with me stating that I was making things up about the car. It turns out that the oil pan gasket was blown as was the transmission gasket which is now getting fixed . Upon filing with the Better Business Bureau be owner Chris and his wife Kathy stated that I was not the original buyer therefore they didn't sell me a car . This business is dishonest and corrupt not to mention having no business sense and how customer service is supposed to be carried out .
