I had my vehicle towed to Bayliss Auto Shop and told them I suspected the timing chain has failed, but I'm no mechanic. Troy Engel said he would inspect the vehicle and let me know what was going on. He would never contact me. I always had to try to contact him to get an update. I finally did get in touch with him and he confirmed the timing chain did fail and it resulted in blowing the heads. He gave me a verbal quote of 2,500 dollars and estimated it would take them 6 weeks to complete the break down and rebuild of the engine. I asked him if I would be better off just buying a new engine and he told me no it will be cheaper rebuilding the engine thats in vehicle. So I agreed to have repairs done. After contacting him numerous times throughout the next 6 weeks "he never contacted me once with updates" . It was finally done and he told me the bill was 2900 . When I went to pick the car up I started it and the exhaust was super loud, and that wasn't the case when he got the vehicle. He told me it would be another 100 dollars to fix the exhaust he messed up and I would need to bring the car back in a couple days for the repair. So I paid the entire bill took the car home let it sit took it back a couple days later to have exhaust fixed. So I paid him a total of 3,000 dollars. The day after I picked the vehicle up it stalled out on the freeway just like initally did the first time. So I had the car towed back to his shop " Bayliss Auto" . I called him the next day and he informed me that my car needed a new engine. So after paying $3,000 for repairs I'm back at square 1. He then tells me he couldn't get me an engine. And I would need to find one myself. So long story short if I could give this company 0 stars I would. I ended up picking my car up in pieces and Bayliss kept the freshly rebuilt heads. I had to pay another shop 3,000 dollars to do what should have been done the first time. Troy Engel was very rude to me throughout the whole proccess he had my car for over 2 months. So please if your reading this do not take your car to this shop. You will be taken advantage of when your in a very vulnerable position . I don't see how this company is still in business. I will definitely be taking legal recourse against Bayliss Auto as they have vilolated many codes of the michigan motor vehicle service and repair act.

Called multiple times only to be told by Jeff they could not get to it. Was advised after the second day there I was next. After 15 days of back and forth we rented a car to see if possibly a Tech had been ill or something. But what we did know the shop could not service us to our expectations. After showing up Jeff the head mechanic finally agreed to give us an estimate that only repeated what we had said when we brought the car in i.e. the engine light and VSC light was on and there was dragging in 1 and 2nd gear. Cost $6500. Thank Goodness the car was still pretty drive able. It is not a hooptie. Got a 2nd opinion they researched it in 2 hours. repaired it, $402.

Dave the head mechanic is great. I was nervous about my engine light on and the car was dragging into 1st gear. I had been quoted $6500 because the car needed a transmission replacement. Fortunately my car was drive able and after looking at a number of reviews, I came across AAMCO Garrison Automotive. He carefully diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Cost $402. Be careful that you select the correct one. Their appears to be a few in the Warren Area. Dave the head mechanic is GREAT and my experience on several occasions he respects your time and doesn't take on your car until he can see you. He's our mechanic!
