Engine repair service near Florissant, MO

Took my motor to Button’s Machine Shop to be rebuilt. The owner Doug claimed to do all the work, but it was clear he didn’t boil the block properly and clean the internal lines. Had $3K tied up in the rebuild. The motor lasted exactly 28 miles. Yep a mere 28 miles before it locked up. When the pan was pulled there was so much gas in the oil it wasn’t funny. Ring issue? Now just today while idling on the lot. A rod came through the side of the block in the same hole that Doug said he fixed. MY ADVICE………….TAKE YOUR MOTORS ELSEWHERE. THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE!!!!

Brought car in for brake repair estimate and received nothing but heartache. Estimate was very high and shop admitted additional damage done on unrelated brake components while doing inspection to fix minor brake repair. Shop refused to fix damage caused during inspection upon learning I had decided not to have Meineke complete any repairs needed. Brought car to another repair shop and fixed ALL work, including damage done by Meineke during inspection, at half of Meineke's original estimate to fix car. Filed to BBB ---case is pending. STAY AWAY and save yourself time and pain.

Very shady business... Had my car for about a week trying to work on emissions problems... They ended up blowing my engine while taking the car out for a drive in an effort to get the emission controls to register! Car was running fine when it was dropped off for repair and ended up having to be towed to the scrap yard! Stay Away!!!

I had my oil changed the night before a trip to chicago for a funeral. This includes a fluid topoff. About halfway to chicago it started to snow and the roads got sloppy. It was also extremely cold. When a truck went by and threw up road slush I hit my wipers and washers. Nothing came out of the washers! There were some dribbles that froze on the hood instantly, but that was all! I was completely blind and was lucky not to be in a serious accident. We stopped at a gas station as soon as possible to put something else in the washer reservoir only to discover that whatever Dobbs had put in was frozen solid. We had to put 1/2 cup amounts in at a time, which necessitated several stops, turning a 7 hr trip into an 8 1/2 hour trip. When I called Dobbs to complain the manager said he would look into it and call me back. That was four days ago and not a peep from them. They obviously put in a seriously over-diluted version of the washer fluid. I'm sure it saves them money, but if someone ever is in an accident because of their negligence and sues them, it could turn out to be a false savings.

I want to thank everyone at North Belt automotive for doing a great job on my car. They were really fast and professional I brought my car into the shop at 4:40pm Friday(the shop closes at 5). They allowed me to wait inside with my toddler son until my ride came, which unfortunately was running late. They called me by 11:30 Saturday evening. I am so very thankful to have found Mr. Meixner and his exceptional crew of expert mechanics! In the last four years I have had to bring my truck into their shop for repairs three different times. I have always been treated with the utmost respect and the speed and efficiency with which the jobs are completed is astounding. The job has always been done correctly the first time. My only regret is that I have waited so long to express my gratitude in writing. If you are looking for honest and dependable work, look no further.
