Transmission repair service near Stanhope, NJ

DO NOT LET THIS BUSINESS TOW YOUR VEHICLE!!! First, they will gouge you and then when you attempt to have your vehicle picked up they will tell you they only take cash. This is from personal experience!! My car was in an accident. They towed it to their lot ($85 + $25 per day storage). Then they wanted $300 to tow it 50 miles. I found someone to do it for $175. I call to pay them with a credit card because I am stuck at home with no car and they tell me they only take cash for towing. I have no car so how I am I supposed to pay cash?? They take credit card for repairs!! This was on a Friday so no doubt their hope was I wouldn't get the car and then I would have had to pay them another $75 for weekend storage (Sat, Sun & Mon). This business owner has no SCRUPLES or ETHICS!! If they do this to someone in my situation imagine what they will do to you. DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!

I was at the shop yesterday (6/8/2015) service is bad and they don't pay attention to their own instructions. Case and Point (1) - Even though they asked me to attached my name and number to my keys during a night drop off, they never called me with any updates on my car. I had to call them 3 times in total and then actually drive to the shop to ask the same question. Case and point (2) - My shift timing Solenoid was the issue they wanted me to purchase a complete B valve unit for ($800 - $1200). I asked why can't the issue be fixed and her response was we do not just fix the single part in question we simply replace the whole unit.... Case and point (3) - They play an interesting game with the transmission fluid taken out of transmission. Based on it being dirty (not red in color), not burnt...stated I needed a new transmission as a result...cost $2200 dollars...do you see a pattern? The Volvo manual states the transmission fluid last for the life of the car, so after 124K miles I would understand the color not being red. Case and point (4) - Getting a receipt was like pulling teeth, I used my credit card to pay ($65.00) and was sent an electronic receipt that didn't state what the cost was for. I had to asked with tone to get a yellow receipt stating what was done. I requested only to drain the old Trans fluid and refill with clean fluid. Case and point (5) - I requested to see the transmission dip stick when done, to verify the transmission fluid levels was correct and the new fluid was red in color. This seen like it was extra, extra work (poor attitudes) for them to show me this simple task. Be careful of this place! Their knowledge is not complete... I was told from 2002 - 2009 all Volvo transmissions were the same, this is not true. Fear is used as a factor in helping one make a decision, not sounded facts.
