Auto inspection service near Stratford, NJ

I have been going here since about 1962 when John and his brothers learned to repair cars from their father. He was very demanding and expected perfection from them. John learned well and always manages to fix my old cars in a proficient and timely manner. He has continued to learn and keep up with new technologies. Like his father he clearly explains what needs to be done and why. He often finds inovative ways to repair my old cars. For example a rear tail light on my 1989 station wagon just needed replacement. Because my tail gate no longer goes down, bolts to hold it in place could only be accessed from the out side by removing paneling. Instead he gained access through a storage compartment. Although I now live in West Chester I continue to go to Shall Martin Garage because of their superior service.

Been taking my imported car problems to Fred Sonsini off and on since the 1990s. Terrific service, high integrity, fair prices, extensive knowledge and experience. "Old school" in the best sense of the term. Highly recommend.

Auto service and repair

These idiots worked on a 2000 ford focus about 3 years ago that had a check engine code for downdraft O2 sensor. They replaced the O2 sensor, and it did not correct the problem. After $300, their "diagnosis" was that the computer was bad. (Forget the fact that the car started and RAN!) I just found that someone had pulled the PCV valve out of the valve cover and TAPED IT OFF. They also pulled the REF port hose from the EGR Pressure Sensor off the EGR valve and left it hanging. Now, I don't know if THEY did that, but they certainly should have NOTICED it. After $850 worth of parts (new catalytic convertor, 3 O2 sensors, spark plugs and wires) I reconnected these hoses and valves and low and behold, no check engine code. Stay far away from these morons.

I've been going to Hughes Auto Service for over 2 years now and can't say enough good things about them! They always do a great job and are extremely honest with me. I have an 18 year old Saturn which has been very good to me, but occasionally needs service. They always correct the problem and explain to me exactly what the car needed. They always call me before making any repairs to get my approval!!! That is very important to me. All the mechanics and the owner, John, are wonderful, hard working, honest people!!!
