Engine repair service near Fort George, NY

I have a 2008 Impreza with 60K on odometer that stalled on a stop light. I call the tow company and suggest the nearest auto shop. Unfortunately it was Auto Tech in Stamford. Service writer told me $129 for diagnose before he can give estimated price for a repair. He call later that day and said the technician has found nothing major issue except I need a new battery and minor engine tune-up. He quoted a price of $650. I said I have other concern about my AC is not blowing cold. He said they will do another diagnose and give me a quote to fix it. They found out my car need a new AC condenser which cost $750 to fix. All in all I paid $1400 after my Triple A discount. I ask about the warranty he said 2 years. After a month my AC is not working again so I bring it back and they told me the new AC condenser works fine the problem is the compressor it need to be replace. it’s kind of fishy to me because when they diagnose my AC for the first time there’s nothing wrong with the compressor now they insist it’s broken and wants me to spend a $1000. Sorry to say but these guys are crooks and untrustworthy. I suggest to avoid this shop they will take your money and never fix the problem.

This is not simply a service and gas station - Joe is a community member. When I buy gas in another town, I feel like I'm cheating ! I have been to Harry's company a few times over the last 5 or 6 years. He has always done a quality job. He is extremely courteous and intelligent. One of his best qualities is his honesty. You do not find very many if any in his profession that come close to his integrity when it comes to the quality and cost of work he performs. He is a dying breed in our society that actually cares about his customers and treats them with respect and fairness. I own my own business and have always shared his views in the way to treat customers and have a conscience when it comes to performing work and what I charge. There are far to many people in business these days that do not come close to having any conscience or integrity to the degree of Harry !
