My 02 Explorer needed transmission work about a year ago (April 2011). I contacted Continental Transmission and decided to have them install a rebuilt transmission with a one year warranty. Over the course of the past year I have had to take the vehicle back 5 times due to transmission problems and a whinning noise from the transmission. I had the vehicle back in to be looked at about 3 weeks ago.. they had my vehicle for 6 days then finally told me that my transfer case was the problem.. not the transmission. Hence.. not covered under warranty and would cost $1300 to repair. The next day I took my vehicle to two other shops (one being the Ford dealer) and was told that my transfer case was fine but was told that my transmission was one the verge of failure. Bear in mind this is less than 24 hours after Continental told me it was fine. I called and spoke with Greg at Continental and repeated what I had been told. I insisted that they replace the transmisson and restart my one year warranty. He reluctantly agreed. So at this point I had been lied to and almost ripped off for another $1300.. but.. what other choice do I have but let them install another rebuilt transmission? After a few days I picked up my truck and everything seemed great. Then I notice that my front license plate is dented along with heavy scrapes to the paint on my front bumper. Now.. 3 weeks later.. the transmission is leaking fluid all over my garage floor. My 4 year old daughter rollar skated though it, fell, and scrapped her knee pretty good.. but thats another story. This time I didn't even bother calling Continental. I took it to a shop in Niagara Falls. I was told, and saw with my own eyes, that the rebuilt transmission from Continental was actually a used transmission that had been spray painted. The transmission gasket was leaking and a bolt was actually broken off and was also repainted. The broken bolt prevents the transmission pan from being tightened properly, thus stopping the leak. I

This shop is a joke. They preyed on my wife trying to charge her $145 for a serpentine belt change after failing her on an inspection. The serpentine belt for her car costs $16. Wow. There is actually a sign in their shop stating that if you give a positive online review they will give you money off service. Enough said. These guys are thieves.

My family and I had just left Canada when my van started to act up! My 6 month old, 3 year old and 5 year old were stranded outside of Good Guys and with temperatures high all I found myself doing is crying! Not only was it a holiday weekend and everything was closed but I knew it was going to cost me an arm and a leg to fix my car to be able to drive home to PA, also I was expecting to have to find a hotel to stay for the night. I went into the garage where I saw a man who has waist deep in a different van. I asked if he could please look at my van and he immediately stopped what he was doing, opened the sitting area for me and my family, and looked at my van. He was able to find the problem, repair it and send me on my way in a matter of 10-15mins! Not only that but it also was the cheapest repair job I ever had to pay for! To me and my family he was a LIFE SAVER! I have no idea what we would have done if he wasn’t there! The place is in a small town and the outside of it doesn’t do it justice! You can tell he loved what he does and if I ever needed repair again around there, they would get my business 110%!

The man who runs this shop, is a very compassionate guy to someone who is in ' car trouble ' , beyond helpful to me. He not only sells cars he can do repair work, also. alex, the owner and operator, when way out of his way to see that I had a vehicle at my disposal when my ride broke. After all his help and the repair work he did the bill was almost unbelievable because it was so little. I felt that he had done so much to I paid what I thought he shoal get. Then he did not want all of what I wanted to pay. In this day and age, the goodness of his heart deserves credit. I will return to his place whenever I need work or look to buy.in spite the fact it's a longer ride.
