You all literally scammed me out of monies. I brought my car there to get a diagnosis on my AC because it was no longer working. The tech ran a scan, then recharged the freon ($270) only to tell me that the compressor was no good. Mike presented me with a quote of $2500 to replace it, parts and labor. From there, I took my car to another shop whom ran a scan and diagnosed the problem to be the pressor sensor. They charged me $340 for the scan, to replace the sensor, and recharge my freon and the AC has been working ever since. They also told me that you all should have know that it was the sensor before recharging the refrigerant. I will never return to your shop because I do not trust you. The same thing happened when Mike was on vacation and I brought my car in to have a water hose replace. You all did a bypass on my auxiliary water pump. I was told that the part had been discontinued and that the bypass was the work around per the dealership. Well, I called the dealership and was told that was not true as well and that bypassing the pump cause problems. When confronted with this information, after coming back from vacation, Mike insisted that only the hose had been changed which is not true. You all are not to be trusted and I will never refer you business.

Very crooked, dishonest business. They charged me $3000 dollars for a repair. I paid for it with my American Express Card. They then declared that my car ownership and the repair warranty belongs to an old, White man who helped me tolled the car off the road. I had to call American Express to dispute it as a bad business deal. The manger asked for 0 proof from a White handy man to assure the ownership of the car, but he demands to see my car title, the credit card recipt to prove that it's my car and that I paid for the repair. He even insinuate that the man is letting me use the car temporarily. I showed him the original sales contract of the car that stayed with the maintanece book from many years ago - the only paper I had at the time. He refused to look at it. He just asked for the title paper of the car more aggressively.. The credit card used for the transaction has my name on it and it matches the record in the front side of the repair order. He refused to look at it. He just asked for the credit card recipt more aggressively. I was denied of my 10 day check up. I was denied of my ownership of the car. I was denied of the warranty. He asked me to leave, saying I have a bad attitude. Nobody would trust a 2 year warranty when one is denied of one's standing as a customer, as owner of the warranty, as a paid consumer and the car owner, simply because one is not an old, white man. This whole thing is just bad, bad, crooked deal...

I was never told that the tires were not balanced. Tires were mounted on the rims but never balanced. Not balancing the tires caused damage to the tires after I drove the RV on the highway . This caused an extremely harsh ride. Violet and heavy shaking. When I returned the RV to JV Houston Tires & Wheels I was informed they could not balance the wheels because they did not have the proper hubs for the tire balancing machine. I have attempted to have the tires balanced, at my expense to no avail. This has gone on for a year with no attempt to rectify the problem. Very hard person to deal with.

I just got back from buy two "very expensive" (per the employee helping me) batteries for my truck. Not only was the service slow - like ridiculously slow, but this employee continued to make comments about how expensive my vehicle was to operate and at one point was telling another customer how much my new tires would cost. Then for whatever reason they decide to give me a complentary wheel alignment test and as they guy is pulling my truck out he hits a piece of equipment with my side mirror. Thankfully there was no damage and I never did get my complementary test. Get your Die Hards at another location.

9415 Fm 1960 West, Houston

Having been a loyal Discount Tire customer for a very, very long time (over 30 years), I couldn’t help but be somewhat heartbroken when I walked into the Discount Tire store at 9415 FM 1960 Rd, West (Houston, TX 77070) to see the lobby practically empty (during rush hour traffic) – with only one customer in the entire place. I suppose long past is the time when they used to have their lobby full, customers bustling around all over the place, because Discount Tire WAS the place we could count on for great customer service. Well, it seems those days are gone – hence the empty lobby. I came into the store to buy two new tires and I wanted them installed on the front, not the rear like they recommend. Why? – Because front tires wear faster and because (to me) new tires in front give better braking and steering control. Moreover, when travelling at highway speeds, what would you prefer – a tire blowout in the front or a blowout in the rear? My money says a rear tire blowout offers a higher chance of survivability than one in the front. Thus, I would prefer to avoid a front tire blowout at all costs. But most importantly though, I wanted the new tires mounted on the front because that was what I wanted. I have read the research and I understand the physics behind placing the tires with the most tread in the rear (rear tire hydroplaning is harder to correct for) and it makes perfect sense. However, I still wanted the new tires mounted on the front (the tread on the other two tires was still good). When placing my request, the salesman would not budge; “the new tires MUST be mounted on the rear” he says. So I walked out and purchased my tires from a tire store down the street (and saved money in the process). Whatever happened to “the customer is always right?” FYI: I was told by a tire salesman recently, that mounting new tires on the rear is a tricky way for tire retailers to push you into replacing all four tires, since “you wouldn’t want to be driving around with a couple worn tires.” Just a quick side note: all of the tire manufacturers and tire retail stores recommend continued tire rotation from the front to the rear and vice versa. Question: doesn’t rotating the tires as is recommended placing the more worn tires in the back, contrary to the spirit of their “mounting the tires with the most tread in the rear” policy?

This was a very unacceptable experience today, Sunday Dec. 15, 2013. My boyfriend dropped off his car here to get a brakejob, and someone took him home since it would be an all day job. The person told him he would pick him up when complete. I came by to simply get an oil change they said would take an hour. I searched for others on 1960, but there were none so I returned and was told 45 minutes this time. So I entered the waiting room and a fellow was talking on the phone at noon saying he'd been there since 9 for an oil change. I looked in the repair area and saw 2 teenage boys in their shorts and one slightly older guy in long pants being the only workers. I went to the desk and told them that after 45 mins. I would get my key and leave whether or not they had started. They completed mine but failed to turn off the maintenance reqd light. Later around 5:30, as I was going to my last tango practice of the year, my boyfriend called to come all the way to Cypress to pick him up since they never answered the phone to do so. About half way he called and said someone was on the way. Then called again saying he had to find a ride with a neighbor because no one showed after he waited for 30 mins outside his house in the cold weather. VERY unprofessional, not answering their workphone or following thru on the pickup. This ruined both our evenings!! Susan Young

The technician broke off my gas cap and preceded to tell me "it was damaged before I arrived." My gas cap was fully connected to my car before I arrived. He broke it and was rude and unprofessional. Horrible, horrible service! Is it unreasonable to expect your car to leave inspection in the same condition that it entered inspection? Do not get your car inspected here because when they damage your car they will not take responsibility!

11-18 -19 My car over heated. Stan, who is a lair and a cheat, told me it was a thermostat. So I greed to have them fix it. Then Stan called claiming the water pump was bad and it is easier to replace the timing belt at this time so I agreed. While they changed the timing belt they mistimed the engine and destroyed it. They bought a replacement engine a “ salvaged” long block. No telling how many mile is on it! I asked that they put the parts I paid for on the salvaged engine. Almost ONE month later, 12-16-19 after repeated calls made by me I was able to pick up my car. I presented the rental car bill and Stan, who is a lair and a cheat said the owner will send me a check, but my car broke after 10 minutes of driving. They tried to claimed it was the exhaust not the engine but eventually cleared the problem. I asked Stan who is a lair and a cheat, if the new parts are on my car and he said no, but I’m going to warranty it for 3yrs 36k miles prorated. Next morning the engine light came on so I took it to the dealer it was there for 3 days while repairing the wiring and sensors that weren’t wired correctly and install missing bolts on the engine! To date my car has still overheated 2X I have exhaust fumes in the cab and most importantly I have not been reimbursed for the rental car and don’t have the parts I paid for.
