Before I begin with the issues, let me preface this review. I’m never the type of person to leave a review, good or bad, but the experience with this place was so terrible I don’t want anyone else to waste their hard earned time or money like I did. If you are on google looking for a place here in town by ratings, realize the majority of the good ratings for this place are a year or older. While Shepard’s may have done a good job building their business up in earlier years with good customer service and quality work, this is no longer the case. Let’s start with customer service. At this business, the right hand never knows what the left hand is doing. There is 0 communication between people working within the business. When you call to check on your car, the answer could vary dependent on who you talk to. You WILL need to call to check on your vehicle daily or you will be moved to the back burner as well. Apparently they have picked up a bunch of business accounts (LPD for example) and average joes get the Rosa Parks treatment. Anytime they give you a time frame, it’s a lie. These people are masters not of cars but of the “carrot on a stick” technique. “It will be done next week,” then another week and another. If you’re waiting on a part to come in for your vehicle, pick up your phone and get ready to call again because these people don’t even know what a phone is. Or at least that’s what I thought after being told continually that I’d receive a call when a part was in or for a status update. I’ve had the same issue with my vehicle for 7 months now and it still isn’t resolved. They kept my vehicle that I use for a daily driver to get to work for 2 solid months! Makes it pretty hard to survive even without a pandemic going on. Not to mention that come to find out, nothing got done in those 2 months. Literally nothing. They had to tell me they actually couldn’t fix it and had to buy a new part altogether. New part comes in, and guess what? Same issue. They even had the nerve to tell me that whoever supplies them their parts told them that they shouldn’t have sold them that part! So now we have a shop that can’t seem to stay true to their word getting parts from a vendor that knowingly sells bad parts. Shepard’s does this knowingly or simply doesn’t vet their suppliers. Regardless, it’s not my problem that you bought faulty parts. But whatever. The shop guarantees its work and I’ve already paid months in advance. Well that only seems to be the case until a certain point. Apparently if they replace the part a certain number of times (not specified) they just tell you you’re SOL, don’t issue a refund (I was told all the money I paid was for the parts that didn’t work), and you’re free to go on about your way with the same issue as before but with much less money, much more frustration, and a ton of time needlessly invested in laughable “craftsmanship” if you can call it that. Closer to mediocre con artistry in my opinion. Sure hope this third transmission they put in works but you could say my hopes are like the work I’ve received, less than average. After transmissions began being replaced, a never before seen issue begins to happen (front axle leak). I got the seal replaced and it was fine for a little. We then have to replace another transmission and the leak comes back. My intuition isn’t 100% but if you take a vehicle to get something fixed and it comes back with more issues than you dropped it off with, something isn’t being worked on correctly. I’ve lost all faith in the work that comes out of this shop and I would caution strongly before allowing people like this to “fix” your vehicle.

My college daughter took her car to this shop in Lubbock while she was attending Texas Tech. Her car would not start. Mr. Ho charged her $650.06. She paid the bill and attempted to drive home and the car was acting the same way showing no difference since repairs. She got home and we took the vehicle to a shop in San Antonio. They were able to determine that the only problem her vehicle had was a dead cell battery. This shop in Lubbock not only charged her for unneeded repairs but also broke the green connector. We had to pay another $666.44 to get her car drivable. I sent Mr. Ho the business owner a certified letter to help resolve the issue but he was unwilling to take ownership of the poor service and unneeded repairs to take responsbility for the damge his shop caused. I took advantage of a young college student. She has since graduated and working back home but we don't want this happening to anyone else. I don't see how this man stays in business. I strongly encourage anyone to look elsewhere for car repairs. They don't guarantee their work and are not willing to accept responsibility while the other shop in SA was willing to show and proof the unecessary cost we incurred from this Lubbock shop.

This brand store located in Lubbock must be full of funny mechanics. They worked on my 2004 jeep liberty, and here is the story... it might be disturbing but it is true. Beware as you visit them. On or around July first 2015 my mother took her jeep there for repair following a diagnosis based on her perception. I advised her to take the truck to Midas, the muffler shop! At Midas the problem was diagnosed as a poorly installed Cv half shaft. First agreement put back the CV axle properly cost was 185. Second attempt we cant install CV axle because it is stack with stub shaft! my Mother took this together to another shop where the separation was done at 20 dollar cost. Back to Midas a new CV half shaft and stub shaft was installed according to Midas employees! I doubt this ever happened, Cost 622 dollars four hundred eighty more that previously agreed. Poor lady gets in truck drives home the same Nose persists, she return the Jeep! Now they have no clue where to start after two weeks My mother contacts Midas who claims the rear differential is bad and a replacement for 1200 is in order. These minions have no clue what their job is. They are a muffler shop not full mechanic shop.
