Oil change service near Glen Allen, VA

So, this review is going to be a long one because it is a long story. I want people to know though. I took my car to get a State Inspection and an oil change. I had never been there before, but I though I would try it. Well, after waiting a normal amount of time I am told that my car needs two things to pass inspection. A transmission mount and a license plate bulb. I was told the transmission mount was broken, but that they did not have one. So, he said that he would call their warehouses to find one. He was unable to find one and said it would have to be ordered, so I told him I would try to find one myself and call him back if I couldn't. Well, I couldn't find it either except by ordering, so I just called him and told him to order it. This all happened on a Saturday. He promised me that they would have the part by Monday, so I said I would be there Wednesday morning to have the repair done. So, I drive up there Wednesday and walk in to get it repaired. I am then told that they have not received the part yet and that I will receive a call when they do. So, as I'm getting ready to leave I run into the man who I talked with Saturday. He then checks and tells me that what happened was they ordered the part, but the warehouse didn't do their job and order it. He says they might have it tomorrow. So, Saturday (a week later) I call them again and am told that they still don't have it. This time they tell me the warehouse dropped the ball and didn't inform them that the part wasn't available in the aftermarket world and that it would have to be ordered from the dealer. He then promises me that it is verified they will have it Tuesday and to bring in my car Wednesday ( a week and a half later from the first visit). So, I go in Wednesday (today) and they go ahead and pull it in and put it on a lift. I am then told that they received the wrong part. My car is a manual transmission, but they had received a mount for an automatic transmission. He tells me though that he ordered a backup with the dealership just in case this happened, but he won't have it until this afternoon. So, I have left my car their with them and await a phone call saying it is ready to go. I will update on what happens. So, as far as I'm concerned this is beyond unacceptable. Today is strike three. I'm extremely patient and had just wrote this off as an odd one time incident, but not now. This place seems incompetent and unable to simply obtain a part. The only reason I'm still having them do it is to get done today. If I get it done somewhere else they'll have to order it as well and there is no telling how that will go. Couldn't go worse than this though. So, if they don't get it fixed today, they can just forget and I'll go through the headache of taking it somewhere else. Either way, I'm never going back to Meineke. NEVER! I ALSO GIVE YOU A WARNING! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

These guys are great. I had work done at a local chain shop and they led me to believe I had a serious problem that would keep us from driving back to NC. I called Murray's, explained the situation and asked if they could take a look. Less than an hour later, they had carefully looked into things and found a minor oversight by the previous mechanic. It was cleared up and all is good. Attitude, courtesy, responsiveness, listening skills, mechanical understanding ... all top notch. Next time we're here and need auto work - I'll go to them first. This location runs a used car lot and please do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy a car from this man. He is a con artist. He falsifies inspections, makes promises he doesn't keep and WILL sell you an unsafe car. My husband is active duty military and has been gone for 6 months. I bought a car from "Joe" with my 4 month old child with me. The check engine light comes on, he tells me "Oh dont worry about that, I'll fix that for you" Tells me its just the gas cap and I leave and the light comes back on. I take it to my mechanic that same day who finds 3 different codes and the diagnostic is a timing chain issue..$2500 to fix. I call "joe" and tell him to fix this or I dont want it. He refuses to listen to me or look at the diagnositc report I brought with me. Tells me "sorry you bought the car As is" After 2 days of extremely hostile behavior, I finally threaten him with legal action. He agrees to take the car back, but for $500 less than what i paid for it. I bite the bullet and lose the money because this man is impossible to deal with and will talk over you and tell you "I don't have time for this" when you try to explain to him that you know hes wrong

HORRIBLE BUSINESS - FEMALES BEWARE! The owner of this shop is a menace and his family is too! I went in & paid for a simple issue that they NEVER fixed and LIED about! When I politely asked for proof that they had even done the work (3 other shops confirmed they hadn’t), the owner refused to let me leave his shop by blocking me in with his run down truck & decided to pull out an unregistered GUN and threaten to kill me OVER THE LIES OF HIS OWN SHOP. Thankfully Colonial Heights police were able to save me from this MONSTER but I’d advise anyone with common sense to GO ELSEWHERE! Especially any students in the area; Any man who is so scared of taking accountability that he needs to pull out a gun on a young female, especially at his decrepit old age, is a revolting excuse for a man. His family and especially his bottom of the barrel wife & brother, who are the only people who are dumb enough to be attached to him & work at that shop, are equally as guilty, disgusting, and revolting as he is. You’d be better off taking your car to a chop shop, trust me!
