Just having a couple of customers a day helped him pay the bills and his recently purchased home. In 1992 his amount of customers grew and was able to open his official licensed auto repair facility in the city of Hawthorne CA, for the next 5 years the businesses boomed from one bay to a 3 bay, 1500 square foot facility, not having enough room he was forced to move to a 2500 square shop in Inglewood, CA. Ten years later he moved to 1129 S. La Brea. Inglewood CA. with 10,000 square foot lot and 4 employees Universal Auto Service still offers great prices and an awesome customer service.

Within a 2 week period, 3 of my 4 tires had nails and screws found in them. I had to purchase a new tire for the first situation. The following week I had to make another visit for damage done to 2 other tires. They heard about my belief as to why I am experiencing this. Fixed the problem tires and sent me on my way..... NO CHARGE! They made a bad situation into a situation where I could be grateful for something. Thank you so much to the manager of Hermosa Beach American Tire Depot. It meant a lot!! I will be back! Very helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating. They should change their name because they do much more than just tuneups and lube jobs. And, as a bonus, they are quick and friendly. One of the employees even offered to give me a ride there and back when my car had to be kept for a few days.

Alvin and Paulo are definitely one of a kind. I originally went here for an oil change as yelp had great reviews regarding their service and specializing in Mini's and BMW's. The reviews are true and they provide great service and treat all their customers with integrity. They are not a shop that will tell you your car needs service just to make a buck. They are straight forward and honest in what your car may need and leave the decision up to you. Recently I unfortunately had my Water pump go out. I called A's Garage right away and Alvin stayed after hours to receive my car from the tow truck and even gave me a lift home. Can't say may places would do that. This shop has won me over and this will be where I will surely get all my services from, from now on.

one of the worst feelings as a car owner is when that red "check engine" light appears...ugh. i brought my truck in today knowing that robert & his crew would be honest with me and let me know if any repairs were truly needed. i feared it was my alternator, a very costly repair... turns out it wasnt, and was related to the ignition box which has been replaced earlier that morning. no repairs were needed! big sigh of relief! i continue to give this business my loyalty because i trust them. bonus is that you get a complimentary car wash with your service. win! win! thank you again silver star !!!

This place is a scam and rip me off.... took my car in for not starting. they piggy back a connector to my fuel pump relay and charged me for something that it was not even replaced!!!! found out from another shop when the car have the same issues and symptoms. DON'T TAKE TO THIS PLACE!!! call them and never call me back. DO NOT TAKE TO THIS PLACE!! THEY RIP PEOPLE OFF THE OWNER IS A CROOK!!!

Went back to ATD saw alex and Tony, They got me in and out for another full synthetic oil change. Took care of my car and got me back on my way. Love this place. These guys the staff and the mechanic on duty are awesome. Aaron Doolittle

My sons Mustang was in our garage seems like forever we tried to get it towed to a shop but they wouldnt send a flat bed tow truck even when we request one about 3xs so my husband decided to put the fuel pump in himself while at the Auto Zone my husband met Ali and Ali gave him some advice and his ph# and said that he was mobile.We then decided to have Ali put the pump in. You can tell he KNOWS what he's doing/talking about.Ali had the fuel pump in it didn't take him long at all. And the price was GREAT!! From now on Ali will be our Mechanic and no one else!! THANK YOU ALI!!!
