I have been coming to Advanced Automotive for a number of years now. Vic and his staff are the most trusted Auto Repair Shop in Southern California for my money. I work in The Automotive Repair Industry and This is the shop I go to and refer all my friends to. 2 weeks ago I had an issue, bent a rim and damaged a tire. Shady shop in Glendale must avoid. I went in for some new tires. They continuously changed the price quote and switched tire brands. They insisted that I need an alignment and new control arm bushings or they won't provide warranty on the new tires. I allowed them to change the bushings and do an alignment and after a couple of days the car drives terribly. It pulls to either right or left side at highway speeds and intermittently there is a wobble on the front right wheel side. I took the car back and after their "mechanic" test drove they tell me I need new brake rotors and need new brake system. This is so bogus because when they worked on my car initially they said everything is fine we checked brakes, etc, etc, etc. My car was driving fine before they worked on my car! I just needed new tires. So now my car has a wobble and alignment is off and they wont fix the work they did. They want to charge me for more things that I don't need instead of replacing the cheap aftermarket bushings they put in. Really sad just avoid this place. Just let them fix your flat tires nothing more. CHECK THEIR BBB! ALL THEIR STORES HAVE 'F' RATING AND THE GLENDALE LOCATION DOES NOT EVEN HAVE BBB! How is this shop still open I have no idea...

We went through 3 different mechanics including the Mercedes Service Department before going to Gold Star. Mike diagnosed the problem with no charge, and his findings were very accurate. We had spend close to $2000 fixing what wasn't even the issue, even Mercedes charging us 280 for diagnosis still couldn't fix the issue. I am so happy and grateful to Mike, he was so generous, professional, experienced, and courteous, we've finally found an honest and extremely experienced mechanic. Don't sign anything before you can get the car checked out, if not make sure you get the Contract Cancellation if not they will want you to pay $1,300 for a restocking fee. All of my paperwork was not even completed but they wanted me to pay this all in cash , so I had to agree to them replacing the brakes and tires. Days later I had a flat on the "new" tire, so if you are looking for reliable transportation this is not the place. The cars may look nice, and the test drive may go well, but you may end up driving off with no brakes (%5) and no tread on the tires, dispite how nice, and clean the appear to look. Double check the contract before signing they added money on the cost of the car listed, and it did not come with everything listed.
