I live in Clermont and needed my recently purchased 2007 GTI worked on so I called one of the local major dealerships and was told they did not work on Volkswagen. After asking for a recommendation I was told by the person on the other end of the line that in fact his really good friend owned his own repair shop and they worked exclusively on Volkswagens; the name of the company was called Jason's Bug Ranch. I tool the information and called to make an appointment; during that call they made the exception of accommodating me even though they usually don't do anything major on Saturdays. When I arrived there were Volkswagens everywhere and after speaking with Jason it was obvious he was an authority on the brand, how they operate, function and how they should be repaired. He shared with me that he does not believe in trying to scare customers into spending more on repairs than is necessary; he believes some repairs are more urgent than others and it's his job to educate his customers about the urgency or lack there of for each repair need and I find that refreshing. That approach significantly increases the chance that the customer will return to him when necessary because consumer trust is hard to earn. Jason spent 45 minutes working on my car and asked me to bring it back when he had more time to repair it correctly; he gave he an entire in depth diagnostic report of my car of which there were many and didn't charge me a dime; he trusted that I would return and I did. Jason and Nate know what they're talking about when it comes to VW and surprisingly very friendly and approachable. Since having my car repaired there it has been running like a champion especially considering the car has 204k miles; it runs like new, very strong, very fast! Our 2012 Chevy Cruze needed various things done. We had several recommendations for him so we called before going out of town for a week and dropped it off to pick up when we returned. He did all the work for a very reasonable price and it's been perfect ever since. We were very happy to find him.

FORD OF CLERMONT service dept is run by crooks, liars and theives. I took my 2002 Tbird in for servicing as I needed a new battery and I also wanted to get my engine fan coolant reservoir flushed, drained and new fluid put in as I accidentally poured a few ounces of water in it by mistake. The service dept told me that the bearings in the engine fan were shot and that I need to replace the engine fan assembly as well as the coolant reservoir. Parts were $611 for the fan assembly and $122 for the coolant reservoir. Labor was quoted as $800 and they charged me a $90 diagnostic fee as well. I declined to have the fan assembly and coolant reservoir replaced but did have them install the battery which cost $114.99. I had a coupon from FORD for a battery for $84.99 but Ford of Clermont wouldn't honor it. So I paid $114.99 plus $90 for diagnostic tests. I took my tbird to Griffis Autos in Groveland to have them check it out. They did a full diagnostic test on the engine, fan, etc and also visually inspected the fan motor. They said there was no damage to the bearing, fan, motor, etc. They also drained the coolant reservoir as I requested, replaced fluid......total cost $70. I have driven car several hundred miles with no issues of overheating, etc. FORD OF CLERMONT LIED and tried to get me to purchase a fan assemby and reservoir and spend over $1500 on repairs I didn't need. LIARS and THIEVES. DO NOT take your car there....If you have a Ford or a Lincoln go to Griffis auto in Groveland. Honest, ethical and they have all the diagnostic equipment Ford has. The owner was head mechanic at Ford Of Clermont for over 20 yrs. I am in no way affiliated with Griffis but am so thankful to them for saving me a ton of money for repairs I didn't need. As far as Ford of Clermont goes, I will do my best to tell everyone to avoid them like the plague! Jim L. Clermont

Today is November 4, 2023 and I am reviewing a business for the first time since moving to Orlando almost 4 years ago. I originally went to Affordable alignment at the recommendation of a neighbor that works there and had a specialist with German vehicles which was perfect for my old Audi convertible, the mechanic specializes in German vehicles is a fellow by the name of Mike and I cannot say enough good things about him. His knowledge and dedication is legendary. That is the good news, now, for possibly the worst experience I’ve ever had with an automotive shop. A little background, I drive a 2020 Yukon and use it as a black car service and today I drove to Port Canaveral from Orlando and my air conditioning stopped working on the way back from that trip. I drove directly to Affordable alignment, because in the past, they have typically Fit me in and done work for me immediately. Today was no different. One of the mechanics referred an AC specialist in the shop to me and he immediately diagnosed the vehicle since he could hear that the blower motor seem to be working properly. he immediately stated that it was either a very dirty filter, or the actuator was not diverting the air to the proper vents. That led him to removing the filter behind the glove box, and discovering that it was one of the dirtiest filters he’s ever seen and was so blocked up that when he removed it, the air conditioning began to work fine. With a smile on his face he said will order a filter for you. It will be here in a few minutes and I will install it and you’ll be on the road. As you can imagine this is about the best news you can hear when you’ve suddenly discovered your air-conditioning is no longer working. It could be many many things all of them potentially quite expensive. This is about the cheapest fix anyone could hope for. I thought to myself even if they charge me a one hour minimum for a 5 minute diagnosis of $100 for labor and $34 for the part plus tax I’m looking at $150 worst case. After 45 minutes from my initial arrival, I went to the office and was presented a bill for $292, I paid it without question and stated on my way out the door that I felt I was being gouged, and I think made it clear that this was the last time I would put myself in that position with this particular business. Instead of saying something along the lines of I’m sorry you feel that way or is there anything we can do to go through this and make you more comfortable? Instead, I was insulted by the cashier, and was told I wasn’t gouged at all that they have to charge for labor and diagnostics, I was made to feel as if this was my first trip to the Mechanic And keep in mind earlier. I explained that I had witnessed the diagnosis it took 5 minutes and that’s being generous. I have noticed over the last year that this place is exclusively focused on money and profits and doesn’t really any longer focus on doing quality work for a reasonable price , I suspect a new generation has taken over and all they focus on is the Almighty dollar. If you’re one of those people like me who does not have money to burn, stay away. If I’m the other hand, you have more money than you know what to do with I must admit, they still do as quality work as they’ve ever done . This is just the last time they will do any work for me.
