I brought my truck in for an exhaust leak. The original inspection was a leak in the resonator. I was told that they would have it on a specific date and that I could bring it back in on that date, so I did. When I arrived they told me that they didn’t have the part yet, so I waited for the next delivery time, only to learn that the part still had not arrived and I needed to come back another day. This time the part was there and I waited for the repair to be completed. But once the repair was done they started that I had another exhaust leak at the drivers side exhaust manifold and to reach out to the shop that did the repair last year since it may still be under warranty, and the truck was stuck on the lift for 2 days before they could get it down. I then learned that the warranty expired due to mileage, so I brought the truck back to Coastal to get the exhaust leak at the manifold fixed. Coastal then charged me another diagnostic fee to tell me that nuts were missing from the manifold and one of the bolts was sheared off/missing and that they were not able to fix it for me because they didn’t have the ability to extract the broken bolt. Not really sure why I was charged a second diagnostic fee for the same basic thing they had said at the previous visit.

Dave has worked on my family's cars for years and we were so upset to move out of state because we worried we would never find a mechanic like him again. Although I am no longer a customer, I recently called Japanese Auto Specialists with a question about a repair they did two years ago. Dave went above and beyond to help, even speaking to my local mechanic to work things out. Chris came to my rescue today. I just had my oil changed at the oil change place down the street and the next time I started my car there were multiple warning lights on. He hooked it up to monitor, opened the hood and said "here's your problem" as he reconnected a hose. I was on my way in 5 minutes and he didn't charge me. We have used Westside Automotive for many years for our vehicle repairs and always been satisfied. I guess I should have used them for the oil change too so it would have been done right. Wife involved in wreck 6/18/2018 when someone turned in front of her resulting in heavy front end damage, none to rear. Took 10 weeks to get car back. When I got it back I found heavy scratch marks on trunk lid from tow driver dragging magnetic brake light bar off lid resulting in $308 in damage. ASAP would not accept responsibility so I am out the money! I have photos of the damage. It was not there when they towed. Owner said stuff flies over car when collisions occur. Nothing here did! I have dashcam video as proof. I should look into small claims court! Caveat Emptor! They will shaft you if they can! Photograph every part of your car before they tow so they can't worm their way out of their responsibility!
