Oil change service near Milton, FL

Beware! I suggested that my son (a student at UWF) visit here to have an alternator replaced. I checked around for alternator cost - around $140 for a 99 Camry. My son went to this Tuffy and they charged him $268 for the same alternator we could have picked up anywhere - a total bill of $450 for a $140 alternator and an hour of labor. Highway robbery! When I called to complain to the manager he argued that they were a retail store and that any price I may have found was irrelevant. I told the manager that he represented the reason why mechanics have such a bad name. He didnt't care. I am a mechanic in Central FL and that job would have cost any customer of mine between $220 and $240. Beware!

The only start given to this location and service is because they changed my oil. The rest of the service, such as customer service, professionalism, and common sense good manners was lacking. Loud, obnoxious conversation, pushy tactics trying to achieve additional purchases were the main reason for not returning to get the vehicle serviced here. At first I attributed the lack of business to poor business location and minuscule advertisement, but after actually visiting the location, I attribute most of it to poor customer service.

We took our vehicle in for new rear brakes. My wife was told at the time of the service that we just needed brake pads and the rotors did not need to be turned. Our car's brakes started squealing about a day after the service was performed. I took the vehicle back in and discussed it with the "owner", who stated that they probably needed to turn the rotors. When asked why they didn't suggest that in the first place he didn't have a real good explanation. He said that they would swap the brake pads and "see what happened". He was fairly rude at this point. I left for about a half an hour and then came back that I would just go ahead and have the pads removed by someone else and return them to him for a refund. I thought that this would be an amicable solution since I was not happy with the quality of the work and the fact that he was being considerably ill mannered. He agreed to refund the money for the brake work and I gave him my debit card to refund the money. I then asked what amount he intended on refunding and he stated ... I’ve been a customer here for 7 years now, and am always very pleased with the service. But today, today was completely different. I pulled in, and right away the employees were a little hostile with a van owner. I didn’t get the context, but was taken aback at how they were speaking to this gentleman….I originally thought, “Huh? Maybe the customer was being ridiculous. ??????? ” But then I pulled into the bay. A different guy started gathering my information - and I interrupted him stating, “I should be in the system.” - and did it with a smile, of course. ?? The guy responded “Well first off, we’re a new company, and have taken everything over. Prices and everything have gone up. If you don’t want to give us your information, I’m happy to let you go, so you can go somewhere else.” ???????????? Wtf????? I thought for a second, then asked “We’ll how much are the price differences. He spouted out all the new prices and I then said, “Well sir - I think I WILL take my business elsewhere.” The price was $20 more than I paid at my last visit. So yikes ?? but that wouldn’t have mattered if he had been polite in any manner. I still need an oil change. He started to walk away, but before I pulled out of the bay, I asked him back over to my window- and said “Just from a customer service standpoint - you might not want to tell your customers they go somewhere else. In case you’d like to learn something today.” He quickly rolled his eyes, walked back to the front of the car, and motioned me out as he yelled to the guy below “She doesn’t want service.” While pulling out, another vehicle (a work truck) was pulling in next to me - and the employees trashed him and his driving as he was pulling in. Overall - those men were all jerks. Within 10 min, I witnessed 3 different employees talking trash and acting like pure jerks straight to the customers and they created an environment I wish to be NO part of.

I couldn't ask for friendlier staff. Jason helped me with my 08 Honda Civic. Had a transmission leak that he took care of it super fast AND at a GREAT price. I highly recommen

They did the whole thing in 1 day. I had my car back the next day after the engine came in. Perfect! They had the cheapest price in town and mechanic Chris is really through and probably the best mechanic in town. He has every just about every ASE certification you can have. I didn't have to wait and I didn't have to rent a car.
