Brake repair service near Oldsmar, FL

This is a Mom and Pop auto repair shop. Mom, Judy and Pop, Jerry run a well oiled machine here. I am an experienced mechanic and they do all my repairs on my 2012 Odyssey. You need an appointment and it takes a few days to get your car in but the work is spot on. Judy manages the work flow and Jerry does the hands on. Very fair and professional work done on my cars over the past 5 years.

I was driving from out of state to my 2nd home for a Christmas family visit. As I was driving over the Courtney Campbell Causeway, sun setting on the horizon, had to open the sunroof and smell the salt air. Beautiful scene. Got to my place a few minutes later...could not close my sunroof. Tried to get the roof to close over the next day to no avail. Called the local dealer, earliest service appointment was 7 weeks out. Was recommended to a European repair shop by a neighbor. After looking at it for a few minutes, they said, "need to take it to the dealer, work too involved". Looked up European car repair in Pinellas County online, several came up, including R&B's. Had great reviews. Called and spoke to A.J. Professional, informative, explained the initial steps w/costs and could get me in the next day. Dropped it off next day and they Ubered me back to my place. They called a few hours later, had gotten the roof to close, which is all I wanted. Cost was exactly what was quoted, initially. Quoted me a price for a new sunroof motor, which sounded reasonable. Decided to leave as is because of heading back North in a couple of weeks and not needing the roof open for quite a while. Being from out of town and completely at their mercy, they could have taken it to me. Instead, A.J. and Molly chose to be honest, courteous and professional. If you have work needed on a European car...take it to this shop. You won't regret it.

This is a great place for repairs. The "dealership" we went to could not fix our vehicle. Bob and his crew got it right the first time at way less $$$.

Don't waste your money going to this clown!

If I could leave a HALF STAR I would... After having a new air conditioning unit installed in my car, I took my car to Platinum Wrench to have the system finished up and re-charged. I paid $160.00 for this to be done. The new unit burnt out after only a couple weeks. I returned the parts to the auto store where purchased as it was under warranty and had another new unit installed, thinking the 1st one was faulty. I went back to Platinum Wrench to have them finish up and re-charge the 2nd unit as I have been going to them for years. Once again I paid $160.00 for the service. Once again the 2nd new system only worked for a couple weeks and burnt up!! At this point I decided to get a second opinion so I took it to another auto repair shop. This mechanic asked me if Platinum Wrench flushed the system, and stated that they should have advised me that all new systems need to be flushed when replacing. Platinum Wrench never advise me that it needed to be done or offered to do it. I asked Platinum Wrench to install another new unit that I provide, flush it and recharge the system free of charge this time as they have caused me considerable time and expense to replace 2 units already. They refuse to stand behind their work and told me no.They stated that I did not ask for a system flush. I am NOT a mechanic so there is no way for me to know that the system needed flushed. Isn't this why mechanics get paid the big bucks?? Never in my life have I had to tell a mechanic how to do their job or what needs to be done. So after $320.00 in charges I have to pay another company to install another unit and flush and recharge the system. After years of business with Platinum Wrench servicing my personal car as well as ALL of our company’s vehicles they have now lost thousands and thousands of dollars in revenue. I advise everyone to take your business to a company that stands behind their work and avoid this business completely!

These guys and at Ice Cold Air, S Westshore blvd in Tampa, are really great! I was down from out of town and they took my car in right away, told me what was wrong, and had it fixed in no time, so I can still enjoy my vacation with my family. Juan is great. He understood my situation and had no problem getting my car in. Jeremy the owner works really well with his guys. He was also understanding to my situation. He's a family man himself. Joe and Manny did a great job showing me what was up with my car. They got the job done with no problems! Thanks guys!! I really appreciate everything you guys did!! We had a awesome vacation! I would absolutely recomend you guys to anyone and everyone!!

Thanks for the quality work once again. It only took 2 days to overhaul my clutch. Everyone else wanted twice the time & more $$$$$. This is the 4th vehicle I've taken here over the years & I've been very satisfied with the quality of all of the work. I had a clutch replaced on one of my cars that lasted over 10 years! I've also sent several other people to the brake & clutch center for brake work & CV joint work. They were all very satisfied. This guy has been around for a long time - he knows what he's doing. Scam alert! Rennen Imports will scam you! Avoid using this “repair shop.” The idiot with the annoying British accent knows nothing about Porsche or German motors. Read the previous reviews, the negative reviews are very accurate. This scammer “repair shop” tried to tell me that my Porsche was dead, and their only option was a new motor starting at around $22,000. After paying to have my car towed here and back home, then paying for their fraudulent diagnosis, I had to pay yet again to have it towed to a REAL repair shop where they were able to determine that it was a $900 part and after labor, everything was going to cost $10,500. A big difference from $22,000. Then when given a chance to make things right, the idiot tells me he was never going to repair the engine, he would have just bought a new engine to put in, even though that contradicts what he had previously said when he told me it was going to cost $22,000 to “repair,” not replace the engine. Even when given the chance to make things right, this place tried to argue and blame me. The idiot then told me it was my fault that I bought a worthless car and there was nothing he could do. Obviously, I should have read all the previous reviews for this place, as the previous reviews are loaded with customers experiencing the EXACT same garbage service. Read the reviews, look at the other people who were “quoted” insanely high prices and all went elsewhere and paid LESS THAN HALF what Rennen quoted. Previous reviews: Rennen quoted $4,000 – Customer got the repair done for $569 Rennen quoted $800 – Customer got the repair done for $500 Rennen quoted $669 – Customer got the repair done for $239 And that’s just the ones who took the time to write a review for this scammer shop. This doesn’t even include all the negative reviews that all have the same theme: brought my car to Rennen Imports, got the car back and this was broken, that was broken, and Rennen Imports takes ZERO responsibility for breaking anything. In closing, you have a scammer “repair shop,” up-charging customers for repairs by hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars, and if that wasn’t bad enough, they’d break stuff on your car and claim they had nothing to do with it. If you like your car, enjoy not being scammed, and don’t want to spend 10 times what repairs should cost; I would HIGHLY suggest going literally ANYWHERE else. You would be 100 times better off trying to repair your car yourself with zero experience or knowledge of cars, since this would still be a more experienced and knowledge than any person working on your vehicle at Rennen Imports.

I searched everywhere to find someone I could trust. Tons of questions and costs for things to be repaired or replaced. All this was because of a prior visits to another place who just looked at it and told me it needed a new transmission. When I finally contacted Engines and Transmission I felt by just talking to them I was at the place I needed to be. They took the time to answer questions, they picked up my vehicle, they called me at different steps to inform me of what they found. I went from thinking that I was going to have to replace/rebuild my transmission to items that were done in a much faster time and what was really needed. Living on a budget and worried about the cost...........I can not thank them enough for being so helpful, kind and considerate. I will return for checkups on a vehicle I had only had for 5 months and knew nothing about - but now I do. To everyone at Engines and Transmission but especially Ashley, Kate and Jason..
