My car was making a funny sound when I Would get into it when it was cold and go to take off but when I got home and Ohio there was a crossmember bent that was pinching everything so therefore it made a horrible noise. My car did not need an alignment. I did need a tire but the crossmember needed fixed, and when they had it up on the lift, they should’ve been able to fix it and not charge me $550 for two new tires and alignment when that’s not the problem.

I made a 1 o'clock appointment to have some electrical work done on my 2015 Ford E class 450 . When I arrived on time, I was told they didn/t have room to work on my vehicle. Very when they saw on the computer that I had given them all the information they needed. I was told IF he had seen it on the computer he would have called me. So much for keeping track on what is going on in the shop. Once I saw my vehicle was not going to be worked on I told the manger I needed help getting my vehicle out of his lot. I was told OK. I went to my vehicle and waited on someone to guild me out of where I was Parked. No one came, I went back in the Lobby, there were three workers seating in the office. Then said with a loud voice " If you are not going to work on my vehicle, I need help getting out. One of the workers got up and helped me get out. Customer service did not exist for me. I chose this place because they advertised, they could do what I needed done and they had a 5-star rating. So much for their rating.

The whole team is phenomenal and I wish they were located in Tennessee where I actually live. They made sure my car was fixed correctly even though I had to stay an extra day (bummer!) <--Sarcasm. Anyway if you have car trouble please go visit these guys you will not regret it. In fact I plan on sending them a thank you card which I have never felt compelled to do at a repair place! On 4/25/15 my car would not start. Mechanic from AAA recommended a new battery. Mechanic from chain auto parts store said I needed an alternator. Contacted Express Oil on 9th Ave. They could do the work tomorrow, but suggested I take car by their location on 9-mile Road to have it looked at and confirm I needed an alternator - as I live near Pine Forest Road to save time and gas (ie money). Mike Cottrell, manager was fantastic. He had my car tested immediately - checked out everything - do not need battery or alternator. WOW - talk about honesty and service. I highly recommend Express Oil and would also like to thank Charles at the 9th Ave. location for his time and trouble. It was the best experience regarding having work done on my car - great job!

I took my car to several other shops for a problem with my interior light blinking and to no avail they could never figure out the problem. The problem started getting worse and actually started to drain the battery to the point that car would not start. After spending several hundreds of dollars I was ready to just trade the car in. I was talking to a friend about the problem and she suggested that I take it to Dave at Auto Docs , she told me I had nothing to lose he won't charge me dime if he couldn't find the problem. So I figured it couldn't hurt. I called Dave at Auto Docs and he said bring it by when I can leave it with him for a day. I dropped my car off Monday morning at 8 and he was nice enough to give me a ride to work which was awesome . we had a little time to talk and he actually explained some of the systems that could be causing the problems in a way that I could totally understand him. Three hours later Dave gave me a call and told me it was the body computer causing all the problems. Dave found a used one , which saved me a ton of money and had me fixed up later that afternoon. Thanks to Dave at Auto Docs I don't have a new car payment and I can drive my little car till the wheels fall off of it! Susan B.

We took our vehicle in for new rear brakes. My wife was told at the time of the service that we just needed brake pads and the rotors did not need to be turned. Our car's brakes started squealing about a day after the service was performed. I took the vehicle back in and discussed it with the "owner", who stated that they probably needed to turn the rotors. When asked why they didn't suggest that in the first place he didn't have a real good explanation. He said that they would swap the brake pads and "see what happened". He was fairly rude at this point. I left for about a half an hour and then came back that I would just go ahead and have the pads removed by someone else and return them to him for a refund. I thought that this would be an amicable solution since I was not happy with the quality of the work and the fact that he was being considerably ill mannered. He agreed to refund the money for the brake work and I gave him my debit card to refund the money. I then asked what amount he intended on refunding and he stated ... My son went to this Tuffy and they charged him $268 for the same alternator we could have picked up anywhere - a total bill of $450 for a $140 alternator and an hour of labor. Highway robbery! When I called to complain to the manager he argued that they were a retail store and that any price I may have found was irrelevant. I told the manager that he represented the reason why mechanics have such a bad name. He didnt't care. I am a mechanic in Central FL and that job would have cost any customer of mine between $220 and $240. Beware!

I am posting this in hopes that all who take the time to read, will share every where and with every one, so that others do not fall in to the trap that I have with the Pep Boys Corp. This website has 300+ others issues from all over. It is not ok to victimize consumers, get away with it, and have no consequence. Their penalty should be lack of business. After reading these, I seriously think it's a waste of MORE time and effort to think they will do me any different than they have these 300+ people. I will call the cc people back and tell them and send them copies and they can do what they want, but I really think they'll all have to 'ding' my credit or whatever ~ http://www.consumeraffairs.com/automotive/pep_boys.htm Recently, I needed an O2 sensor replaced. Pep Boys on 9 Mile Rd. said that did just that and charged me $285. The short story is 3 visits later to Pep Boys, and another $285 the problem was not fixed. Took the car to a real mechanic and found out that they not replace the O2 sensor they charged me for. When I called the shop and spoke to the manager. He repeatedly apologized but told me he couldn't help me unless he could see the receipt, see the part the other mechanic took off the car, and INSPECTED the car. LMAO He has a copy of the computer generated receipt and I offered to give him the invoice #. He says he could not credit the card unless I was in front of him. LMAO I wasn't in front of them when they ran that same number on the same card to charge the amount due for services NOT rendered. I was considering writing corporate, but after reading all of these complaints. I think I'll dispute the charge with the credit card company and if they choose to side with thieves and frauds no body gets any more money out of me. They can work it out among themselves. It's been a month of back and forth to a mechanic, forking out money, and stress. I wish I had seen all this before I took the recommendation to go there. Notice on the receipt it says old parts returned? They write no.... I have uploaded a picture of the part that PB say they replaced, but the mechanic who REALLY fixed the car gave me to show me the rust. He also showed me pics of where it was located on back part of the engine and how it was rusted. This meant that is was factory not newly installed. It if wasn't so financially crushing, it would be funny ~ got money to throw away?! enjoy fraud?! Well Pep Boys is the place for you.... go sit in a waiting room for FOUR hours while they do nothing and charge you! Evidently I paid about $90/hr to sit in their shop. I sure hope others do better research than I did. I trusted a friend's recommendation. NEVER AGAIN! I will tell every one I know to stay away from Pep Boys. They are thieves and frauds and liars. I say this because after lying and stealing the $285 for services NOT rendered, would you believe they wanted to "FIX" my brakes??! I would hope some one would contact me from corporate, but I suspect they've gotten all they can from me, so they no longer have a need to communicate.
