Brake repair service near Trilby, FL

FORD OF CLERMONT service dept is run by crooks, liars and theives. I took my 2002 Tbird in for servicing as I needed a new battery and I also wanted to get my engine fan coolant reservoir flushed, drained and new fluid put in as I accidentally poured a few ounces of water in it by mistake. The service dept told me that the bearings in the engine fan were shot and that I need to replace the engine fan assembly as well as the coolant reservoir. Parts were $611 for the fan assembly and $122 for the coolant reservoir. Labor was quoted as $800 and they charged me a $90 diagnostic fee as well. I declined to have the fan assembly and coolant reservoir replaced but did have them install the battery which cost $114.99. I had a coupon from FORD for a battery for $84.99 but Ford of Clermont wouldn't honor it. So I paid $114.99 plus $90 for diagnostic tests. I took my tbird to Griffis Autos in Groveland to have them check it out. They did a full diagnostic test on the engine, fan, etc and also visually inspected the fan motor. They said there was no damage to the bearing, fan, motor, etc. They also drained the coolant reservoir as I requested, replaced fluid......total cost $70. I have driven car several hundred miles with no issues of overheating, etc. FORD OF CLERMONT LIED and tried to get me to purchase a fan assemby and reservoir and spend over $1500 on repairs I didn't need. LIARS and THIEVES. DO NOT take your car there....If you have a Ford or a Lincoln go to Griffis auto in Groveland. Honest, ethical and they have all the diagnostic equipment Ford has. The owner was head mechanic at Ford Of Clermont for over 20 yrs. I am in no way affiliated with Griffis but am so thankful to them for saving me a ton of money for repairs I didn't need. As far as Ford of Clermont goes, I will do my best to tell everyone to avoid them like the plague! Jim L. Clermont

WOW -- there just isn't a better or more fair mechanic on the planet. What a blessing Mark and his whole team has been to me and my son. We recently bought a classic Nissan Z and of course it came with some issues. Makr has been patiently working through the issues with the car as I find them -- quite honestly he and his team are thorough and get it right the first time everytime.

My 2011 car stalled out multiple time and was accelerating when in park. Willow bend automotive called and told me my filter was dirty and once they cleaned that the problem went away however they found Multiple issues. Over 1500 dollars to fix it was a lot but we have to have a reliable vehicle. Fast forward to the day after we got the vehicle fixed we noticed it was missing a little when we slowed down or in park. A couple weeks later the car stopped while behind another vehicle on a busy road. The thing I brought it in for was NEVER fixed. So now more than 500.00 more they want to fix something that was supposed to be fixed. Unbelievable. Yesterday I asked the mechanic if it would cost me something and today they called back and told me a different story. I went by good reviews. Never again. I feel scammed.

Shady, Their version of a coolant flush is just draining the old coolant out and refilling with new. An actual coolant flush is hooking the fluid exchange machine up and evacuating the old coolant from the system and then adding a chemical to circulate and clean the system and then add new coolant. Do not charge customers for something that you aren't doing. When checking rotors you use a micrometer to measure the thickness against the discard specs, using eyeball judgement does not accomplish this. There are many other mishaps by this company, these are only a couple. Buyer beware

A real hard working man, maintained my vehicle and and did a great job. He was working on three cars, but did the job on mine great. The only problem with this shop was, I assume the manger, was yelling and fusing the whole time I was their at the employee, he was rude and it about drove me off. I think this man abuses his employees. But otherwise the man in the light green shirt did an excellent job on my car and told me exactly what I wanted to hear and preformed a perfect job. See him when you need work.

DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS TIRE KINGDOM STORE OR ANY OTHER ONE. TAKE ALL YOUR CAR NEEDS AND SERVICE TO LLOYD POWERS AT "JUST BRAKES" ON HWY.98 NORTH IN LAKELAND as of June 16th, 2014. What a horrible company Tire Kingdom is, and the despicable assistant manager Norm, who caused the long-time Manager, Lloyd, and the best mechanic, Jimmy, to leave the store. Norm and his mechanics are terrible and not to be trusted.

After being told by a local dealership that my car needed hundreds of dollars of work to include brakes and all fluids , I took my car to Gunder's and was enlightened to the fact that I did not need any of that at all. I appreciate their honesty and integrity and have recommended them to friends that have also had great results. Thankful for an honest place to have my car taken care of on every level.
