Transmission repair service near Belleville, IL

Great people work here. I took in an old 1972 351C block because of some stuck bolts I couldn't get with my tools at home. They got it off with no problem, they didn't charge me for anything. I had planned on paying for the use of the tool and a few minutes but they wouldnt let me. Definitely where I am taking my business from now on.

I agree with Gene. In my case I drive a diesel Sprinter, very hard to get good service on to begin with because it is all German. I live in Montana too. I was referred to Westport Autohouse by a friend whose personal experience was very similar to the other review. So I called and made an appointment. The owner - Mike- insisted that because he had to order parts I should plan on leaving it overnight. I told him - Ok but- I had to be finished by 4 PM on Thursday since i had to be in another part of the state for business on Friday. The initial estimate was fine and was accurate to what needed to be done according to my research on the problems and the symptoms. The final bill came in a bit higher but they had completed all the repairs, the van drove smoothly and perfectly for the first time in months !! I am elated. I had been in a Mercedes Benz dealership earlier to get the same things done and they wanted over $2,000 more and most of that was for the wrong stuff anyway. I highly recommend Westport Autohouse and plan to use them every time I need a repair in the future. Tim B.

Amazing customer service! I was given a breakdown of services I would need ..they even offered discounts. They were really honest and answered all of my questions. Also given their opinion on which services I should prioritize since I wasn't able to pay for all of the services that day. 100000% would recommend to everyone. These guys advertised a front bumper on their website for a Mercedes which they didn't have. They took the payment of $887.86 and have not supplied the part or returned the money. I would advise not to deal with them and find another supplier.

I RECENTLY TOOK MY CAR TO AAMCO TRANSMISSION SHOP ON 11323 MIDLAND BLVD TO HAVE MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT LOOKED AT,MY CAR RAN PERFECT BEFORE I BROUGHT MY CAR HERE EXCEPT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON,THE MANAGER DAVE CALLED ME AND SAID THE REASON THE LIGHT WAS ON WAS BECAUSE I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION AND HE SAID ALSO I HAD A BAD STARTER HE SAID THE CAR WOULD ONLY RUN HALF THE TIME AND I NEEDED TO GET THE CAR OFF HIS LIGHT BEFORE THE NEXT DAY OR I WAS GETTING CHARGED 25.00 DOLLARS A DAY, SO I HAD MY MECHANIC GO AND GET THE CAR AND HE SAID SOMEONE HAD BURNT THE STARTER UP,NOW THAT STARTER ONLY HAD ABOUT 100 MILES ON IT ,SO I CALLED DAVE THE MANAGER AND HE SAID THEY NEVER EVEN STARTED THE CAR THEY PUSHED THE CAR IN AND DID THE DIAGNOSTICS ON IT AND PUSHED IT OUT AND HE WAS VERY RUDE SO I WAS WONDER HOW THE CAR RAN HALF THE TIME THAT HE WAS SAYING,THE CAR DID NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM BEFORE I BROUGHT CAR TO HIM,SI I ASKED FOR THE OWNERS PHONE NUMBER AND HE SAID HE CANT GIVE IT OUT,SO HE TOOK MY NUMBER DOWN AND WAS SUPOSE TO GIVE IT TO OWNER,INSTEAD HE CALLED ME TWO DAYS LATER AND SAID HE WAS THE OWNER,I TOLD HIM HE WAS NOT AND HE FINALY CAME CLEAN AND SAID HE WAS ACTING FOR THE OWNER,THIS MANAGER DOES NOT NEED TO BE ANYBODYS MANAGER,HE IS VERY RUDE A LIER AND UN PROFESIONAL,I WILL NEVER RECOMEND OR BRING ANY CARS BACK UNTIL HES GONE AND I WILL TELL EVERY ONE ABOUT THIS. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS PLACE!!!! THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF! My car was at his shop for over a month for a rebuilt transmission $2500.Only to drive it for 3 days and transmission fluid was pouring out of it like water. I took it back and a week later he tells me the frame is messed up and needs repair and the frame isn't under warranty. So, another $275 only because I refused to pay the full cost. I've had my car for two weeks since being in the shop and I notice transmission fluid leaking again. That shop is a joke and a rip off. I'm contacting the BBB and sueing for the cost of repairs to fix what he did plus what I paid him to repair my transmission. Flee from that place!

I took my car in to have work done on the motor they kept the car for over 2 weeks did not fix the problem and messed up the transmission when they pulled the motor .I would never give this place a thought.

gotten over what I went through with JIM at Austin Transmission: he took me 3100.00 for a car he did not fix. Jim said my transmission is screwed and, to rebuild it he needs 2900.00 I had already paid him 200.00 to check the car. At the end he did not touch the transmission as he said that's not finally where the problem was. my car wasn't just shifting right. All he did is clean the Shift module and the car started operating. 2 weeks later the samesymptoms came back. I had already moved oput of state. The gentlemen I took my car to, changed the entire shift module for 600.00 and the car has been running like a charm. This man basically took me 3100.00 for just cleaning the shift module where I had spilled some coke earlier!!! He initially refused to free my car until I paid the 1900.00 balance as he had 1000.00 down, even though he did not mess with the transmission as he initially diagnosed, please don't be another victim. I couldn't take him to court as I was moving out of state the day after I took my car. But God will take care of him! It was my mistake in the first place to take my Mercedes E430 to a place full of junk cars! PLease DO NOT GO TO AUSTIN TRASNMISSION. That Place need to close.
