Engine repair service near Deerfield, IL

I have a 2001 Toyota Tacoma with 87K on it. Great truck. Check engine light came on so I went to a local dealer where I had purchased two other vehicles in the past. They said I needed both catalytic converters for the not so surprising sum of $3600. I understand that dealers always charge high for parts but, no. I went to Paul's Bender Center ( to the dealers credit they did suggest Paul's ) and they quickly found bad gaskets near the O sensor causing the bad reading. One hour and $ 109.20 later AND a passed emissions I drove off smiling. I've been to Paul's in the past and will surely return and recommend their services to everyone. James M. Kenosha, WI

My brother-in-law purchased a used scanner from Skip and after updating it through the dealer, a couple of Arlington Heights and Wauconda Police Detectives showed up at his place of business to confiscate the scanner as it was reported stolen by its original owner (Skips friend from Lattoff Chevrolet). This information can be verified through the freedom of information act as it is on file with the Arlington Heights and Wauconda Police Departments. Mike called and called Skip left several messages for him to call him back never to hear from him. Finally talked him and he said he doesn’t have the money to give back to him and he won’t give him anything else of value to compensate me for my losses. I happen to know that he sends the machine work that he is supposed to do for his customers to other machining businesses to do for him but then doesn’t check it when he gets it back and has had some problems because of that. That’s if you can get it back from him after several excuses of why he has not touched it after several months of having it to work on. I know some people that he has had their jobs for more than 6 months and finally said he has to order parts and it will be another couple of months before the parts come in. Skip also has a really big mouth and likes to talk about everyone else’s business, he also likes to say what everyone else is doing wrong with their business but doesn’t know how to run his own business

I highly recommend Steve and crew for repairing your Audi (and other makes). After a long search for repairing my car, Steve was very helpful over the phone without even seeing the car. He gave me an honest opinion and range or repair cost - again, without seeing the car. I brought it in and he repaired it and a couple other things he found that were related. When I came to pick the car up, he noticed another issue when pulling it up for me. He brought it right back in the garage and let me borrow his car while they made this additional repair. I was not charged for this, as Steve took responsibility for it. Honesty and fair pricing is difficult to find, especially with cars that are expensive to fix, and I'm thrilled I've landed at a place I can trust and use moving forward. I was very pleased with my recent experience at sunset automotive #3. I was broke down on the side of the road and I was very impressed with how quickly the tow truck responded. I was more impressed with the unbelievable customer service. Chris Caldron was so welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. He was very thorough in his explanation of what was wrong with the vehicle. He also did a great job of explaining it to me so I could understand. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

I went to get my oil changed and the guy doing the oil change told me about my brakes he was vary nice took me in the shop and showed me what was wrong and why.The price i got was cheaper than anyone else i got new pads rotors and calipers serviced for under 200.00 the brakes have not gave me any problems.The mechanic did a great job now i bring all my cars to them.

Have always had great service and work done when bringing my vehicle to AAA. Prices are fair and haven't had an issue in the 4 years I've been going to AAA for auto repairs. Highly recommend this shop.
