The automatic transmission in my Toyota Sienna van appeared failing to up-shift to 3rd and OD gears. I took the car to a number of local shops to diagnose and quote for repair. The Toyota dealer charged me $62 for only taking a short test drive without any diagnostic scanning of the car and said the transmission needs to replace (refurbished) at $3520. Another shop did do the scanning and test for free but told me to rebuild the transmission. Then I came to Superior Transmission. Frank and the technician inspected my car in very much details, including check the fluid, scan the data and test drive. They found it was most likely a solenoid problem and gave me detailed explanation how they would fix it step-by-step, from the best to worst scenario. All these were done in a very professional way and free! I can tell they are experts on transmissions but, most importantly, they are honest and want to fix your problem instead of taking the advantage on your situation to make the most money from you. They gained my trust immediately. Finally my car was repaired by Superior Transmission at the cost about 1/10 of the other. The job is also backed up by warrantee or credit if further work becomes necessary. So far my car runs as good as it used to be. Picked up a coupon from Groupon that included free oil changes. I went in expecting to be met with a cold shoulder and a hurry-up-and-get-this-guy-out-of-here feeling. I was wrong. I came in and was greeted right away by the owner himself. While I was waiting on my car to receive an oil change the owner sat with my girlfriend and I for a good 15 minutes talking to us and making sure everything was going well while explaining his business and passion for good service. The oil change was done in a timely manner and everything went smoothly. There was not even a hint of upselling and I never felt uncomfortable while there. I live in Schaumburg and this is a little bit of a drive just for an oil change but now that I have been there once I don't think I will go anywhere else for future service of my vehicle. The entire management and floor team there were very professional and friendly. It is also located in an easily accessible location and well-kept neighborhood. I am going back this Saturday for another oil change and I look forward to speaking with the owner again to let him know what I think of his business. As a new resident to Illinois I am happy to know I have found a trustworthy auto business.
