They are amazing mechanics. I don't think anyone can ever match their experience. They hear one awkward sound from my car and they automatically know what is wrong with it without even opening it yet. And it's all done at reasonable price as well. Ask for Albert. He's the best.

This shop scams people. DO NOT COME HERE. I have FULL COVERAGE car insurance in which I do not have to pay anything in the event of a car accident. When I first called to release my car, they said that my car wasn’t there for 2 days. Meanwhile, incurring storage charges. This is the oldest trick in the book to get money when they “can’t find” your car. My vehicle was here for 2 full weeks sitting in their lot HOSTAGE. Insisting on ME paying them cash or credit card to be released to my insurance approved body shop. They dodged almost every single one of the insurance company’s calls when they tried to pay the tow and storage fees from them. Multiple times they claimed the owner was not in or the woman who deals with billing was out. Stalling to get more days in storage fees. When my mom went down there to sign the release paperwork, (7 days in at this point) the owner Benny tried to hustle $800 cash or credit card from her so “they could tow it to the new body shop.” Their attitude towards me and my mom were very demeaning. As a young woman, they tried to intimidate and bully money out of me by giving me misleading and incorrect information at EVERY interaction I had with them. They would not have treated me this way if I was a male. I ended up calling the police to assist me with ensuring my car gets out after 2 frustrating weeks. I saw the bill was only $920, including the 2 tows and 14 days in storage fees. Something doesn’t add up here. This is why tow-truck companies and body shops get a bad reputation, because of predators like them. Unprofessional, rude, shady people.

AAMCO Transmission

950 Frelinghuysen Avenue, Newark

Hi everyone, I do humbly urge each and everyone not to go to AAMCO TRANSMISSION located at 950 Frelinghuysen Avenue, Newark, NJ 07114. They just reap people off. The loose ur transmission and tell u whatever they want u to hear. For instance, the Torque converter that cost less that $200 for my car they said is $1600, and lots of other parts they listed. At the end of the day, u end up paying them more than the cost of a new transmission from the dealer. For average cars, they make u spend roughly $4,000 just for rebuilding ur transmission, and give u a 1 year warranty or 12,000 miles which ever comes first. After one of these, the same problem again started developing. My case is less than a year even. When I came back, they said I have to pay for the parts and they will take care of the labor. I look at the good Samaritans that pay for a shop and workers and yet work for free. While I was there, I saw many people coming in, yelling for the reap off. One even called a cop to take a statement on what has happened between him and AAMCO. I advice all not to visit here. Thanks

best of the best Excellence of Excellence when it comes to transmissions. I was referred to them by a business associate and I could not have been happier! Right when I arrived with my vehicle (a 99 jeep Cherokee) I was greeted by the owner Rick. From there I started to explain the problem to him and through his experience he was able to finish my sentence. He ran a computer diagnostic (which he offers free) and then took it for a roadtest. The car actually broke down when we got around the block! Rick was calm cool and collected and got the car to start back up and bring it back to the shop. Since it was about closing time for the shop he said he'd have his men take a look at it in the morning. The next day, I did not even have to call him! I was called only a few hours afte the shops opening, explaining the issue with my vehicle and different options ranging from 800-1500. I told him I would call him right back and not to start anything which he was completely ok with! I called another transmission shop that was local, explained the problem as Rick explained to me, and they estimated a price of about 2900!ABSURD! I called another shop and they wanted 2200. Within seconds I called Rick back and gave him the go ahead to do everything he needed to do. Three days later (I was in no rush to have it back) I receive a call that I could come pick it up. It turned out to only cost a mere 1150! Less than a thousand of what his competitors were trying to charge. With his work I received a 1 year / 100k mile warranty which pleased me even more because it shows he backs his work with pride! Through it all he was extremely professional, knowledgeable , approachable, and genuine. A true class act ! Would refer any and all to go there. Thanks Bay Ridge Trans !

Don't go there! unprofessional liars! Charged me 2300$ (cash) For used transmission, they give you (6 month warranty which is nothing) less than 6 month transmission was out of use.. they fixed it again, after few months car got the same exact problem, during fixing transmission they damaged muffler and asked more money to fix it. Also very rude personal, specially owners, be careful with them! They really stressed me out about timing.. I lost a lot of money and time.

About 3 weeks ago I brought my car ( mercedes c280 ) to this place. There is an issue with either transfer case or shaft drive , not sure. Someone recommended me to go to this place. So the owner Oleg told me that he has many cars in the shop and told me to come in 2 days. I came in and again he said there is no place. Said to call him up daily and see if he has an open space. After several attempts still nothing available. Then Oleg said to leave the car and he will check it the next day. After 2 weeks folks .Well it didn't happen . Not the second day nor the 3 Rd or so. On the fifth day I still saw my car where it was parked . I remember vividly how I left it there. He said that both transfer case and shaft drive are not good and needs to be replaced , what a coincidence right ? same info that I told him. And the funniest part is that the cost will be about 5k. Again if you buy those parts brand new will cost you 600-700$ . I work in real estate and I depend on my car and this guy lied to me for weeks and I couldn't even do my job.
