Transmission Repair
best of the best Excellence of Excellence when it comes to transmissions. I was referred to them by a business associate and I could not have been happier! Right when I arrived with my vehicle (a 99 jeep Cherokee) I was greeted by the owner Rick. From there I started to explain the problem to him and through his experience he was able to finish my sentence. He ran a computer diagnostic (which he offers free) and then took it for a roadtest. The car actually broke down when we got around the block! Rick was calm cool and collected and got the car to start back up and bring it back to the shop. Since it was about closing time for the shop he said he'd have his men take a look at it in the morning. The next day, I did not even have to call him! I was called only a few hours afte the shops opening, explaining the issue with my vehicle and different options ranging from 800-1500. I told him I would call him right back and not to start anything which he was completely ok with! I called another transmission shop that was local, explained the problem as Rick explained to me, and they estimated a price of about 2900!ABSURD! I called another shop and they wanted 2200. Within seconds I called Rick back and gave him the go ahead to do everything he needed to do. Three days later (I was in no rush to have it back) I receive a call that I could come pick it up. It turned out to only cost a mere 1150! Less than a thousand of what his competitors were trying to charge. With his work I received a 1 year / 100k mile warranty which pleased me even more because it shows he backs his work with pride! Through it all he was extremely professional, knowledgeable , approachable, and genuine. A true class act ! Would refer any and all to go there. Thanks Bay Ridge Trans !

Diagnostic
Bay Ridge Transmissions Free Diagnostic was for real. My Nissan Quest had no power to go up hill. I was told that it was a bad transmission. Rick spent quite a bit of time analyzing my car and found a clogged catalytic converter in the exhaust system. He advised me to go to my regular mechanic and have it repaired. Refreshing to see an HONEST shop.

awful
I have been going to this Transmission place for the pas 3 months for off course my transmission, and they cannot seem to get this right. I have to go back 3 times now, and I'm going back again for the fourth time now. I can't believe a place that has been in business so long cannot fix the only thing that they do, doesn't make sense, I have a year warranty, and I'm going to become a real pain in the a**..

It's nice to deal with a professional operation. Rick the owner for as long as I can remember did a free check-up on my Dodge minivan. The transmission needed to be rebuilt (which I already suspected). The price he gave me was very fair with a full warranty. The job was done in 2 days. The car never felt better, but more important was the service given. The shop was clean, the owner and workers were a pleasure to deal with, and most important there were no suprises. The price given was the priced charged(how rare in today's world). I AM VERY IMPRESSED I give Bay Ridge Transmissions my highest rating.

Great Job and honest Rick saved my Subaru from the junk yard. Subaru dealer wanted $4000 to replace my tranny with a rebuilt . Rick fixed mine for $1500 and a better warranty. Rick does only transmissions and is very proud of his work. That's the kind of guy you want fixing your tranny. I"m very happy

In my opinion this place is terrible. They take your money and your car is worse off then when you came in. They talk a good game but they do not know what they are doing and leave you hanging at the end.I would never return here again. Beware.
