The jimmied lock caused a electrical short and drained the battery. At no time did Steve discuss the repair or replacement of the door lock even though they discovered the damage. If you lack the competence to diagnose a electrical problem you ask your service manager for help. That mechanic was negligent in this respect. What if this had happened to my elderly wife in a remote area at night in Winter. The temperature is dropping and her phone is dead. She cannot enter the car for shelter. The word "negligence" precedes many tragedies.
