My car was leaking transmission fluid. I brought it to AAMCO in Middletown, NY. Brian explained to me that it was a cooling line that needed to be replaced. He explained how the transmission works, what it would take to fix the problem and quoted me a price. They did a great job from customer service to the actual mechanics of the fix. I have been using Sierra Auto for over 15 years. The tech (Johnny Jr.) is a ASE master tech. Really knows his stuff. They were always able to work out pricing from day one. They also stand behind their work. I would recommend them any day.

Hello Everyone, I would like to share my repair experience with foreign auto repair service: Both Glenn & Lisa were consummate professionals during the entire process of troubleshooting my diesel Range Rover. They kept me abreast on the entire process, provided a thorough photo of all the work provided with photos of the work conducted allowed me to use their car while they repaired my car which is above and beyond generous. Glenn kept me posted through txt messages daily. They isolated the problem, worked with the warranty company on the repair cost ensured I understood what I was responsible for on the repair cost and returned my car back repaired. I was at the shop yesterday (6/8/2015) service is bad and they don't pay attention to their own instructions. Case and Point (1) - Even though they asked me to attached my name and number to my keys during a night drop off, they never called me with any updates on my car. I had to call them 3 times in total and then actually drive to the shop to ask the same question. Case and point (2) - My shift timing Solenoid was the issue they wanted me to purchase a complete B valve unit for ($800 - $1200). I asked why can't the issue be fixed and her response was we do not just fix the single part in question we simply replace the whole unit.... Case and point (3) - They play an interesting game with the transmission fluid taken out of transmission. Based on it being dirty (not red in color), not burnt...stated I needed a new transmission as a result...cost $2200 dollars...do you see a pattern? The Volvo manual states the transmission fluid last for the life of the car, so after 124K miles I would understand the color not being red. Case and point (4) - Getting a receipt was like pulling teeth, I used my credit card to pay ($65.00) and was sent an electronic receipt that didn't state what the cost was for. I had to asked with tone to get a yellow receipt stating what was done. I requested only to drain the old Trans fluid and refill with clean fluid. Case and point (5) - I requested to see the transmission dip stick when done, to verify the transmission fluid levels was correct and the new fluid was red in color. This seen like it was extra, extra work (poor attitudes) for them to show me this simple task. Be careful of this place! Their knowledge is not complete... I was told from 2002 - 2009 all Volvo transmissions were the same, this is not true. Fear is used as a factor in helping one make a decision, not sounded facts.
