We have used this mechanic shop a few times now. The mechanic is very honest and does great work. One vehicle we brought in, and he was unable to absolutely diagnose the problem or if the work he did would fix it, so he told us that straight up and discounted the charge for the diagnosis of the vehicle because he felt he had not properly served us. It was because of his honesty on that occasion that we returned to him.

This service was incredible! The mechanic was timely, knowledgeable, and professional. I had my oil changed and break pads/rotors replaced without leaving my house... and for cheaper than your standard shops. My favorite part? I wasn't being upsold on air filters and fluids! Excellent service! My check engine light came on, Oreilles and the dealer told me it was my oil pressure switch. The dealer said they would need it for 3-4 days. Shaw's was able to have my jeep done the very next day. The guy at the counter was great, and the owner Steve made it a point to come talk to me. Overall I am very happy, and will be back for all my future needs!

Jim's Transmission Service was started in 1958 by Robert James (Jim) Currier Sr. in a small garage on Cuyahoga Falls Ave. in Akron. He moved the shop in 1962 into the building pictured to the left, which was located on North Main St.
