Engine repair service near Valley City, OH

I have been a customer of Superlube and Brake for years, and I have recommended this shop to many people. The owner, Fred, and his highly professional staff (specifically Chuck and Josh) have always taken the time to explain the problems with our cars and have offered reasonable solutions to fix them. They always strive to "take care of" the customer, and they will not recommend an unneeded service. I appreciate being able to take my cars to a place where people care about the job they do and the customers that they serve. A job well done!

I saw negative reviews of this place and thought they may just be isolated incidents. I should have gone with my gut feeling, that was mistake #1. I dropped my BMW 650 off on Wednesday evening for an appointment on Thursday morning. That was mistake #2. I stopped by later on Thursday to see what was going on with the diagnosis but my car was no where to be seen. After asking where it was and waiting about 10 minutes I was told it was parked out front, it wasn't, I looked. A few minutes later one of the "technicians" was pulling in with it. Ok, fine road test I get it. They say they can't find any coolant leaks and that it's not leaking, trust me, it's leaking. Ok fine, I pick the car up and notice they put 131 miles on it. I called Carey the owner and he didn't even deny it. He told me they drove it to Mentor for an "extensive road test" to see if it would leak. Are you kidding me? They were even dumb enough to leave a receipt in the car from Painesville which is a LONG way from Parma Heights. The funniest thing about this whole cluster is that the owner thinks or at least acts like this is completely normal. I said, "it's funny how a BMW dealer doesn't do this". He replied that he knew BMW techs that will road test a car to Columbus. Seriously? He's delusional. Well at any rate, they used my car to joyride and most likely never even looked at it. They said it's probably leaking from a loose expansion tank cap, if that were true it would be leaking from the top, not the bottom as it's and coolant would be down the tank and it's not. Funny how BMW found the problem in 30 minutes. Do yourself a favor and pay a few extra bucks and go to a reputable shop unless you want your car used like Ferris Buehlers Day Off. You've been sufficiently warned.

I called around to get a better price than the dealer gave me, talked to George and he was very courteous and tried to help me. I then took the car in to be checked . Again he helped me make the decision to use them.. The price was right and the workmanship was good. I will use them again and tell my friends about them. Theresa B

They were fantastic, so very honest. My daughter took her car here because she was hearing a grinding noise and they called her to tell her she needed a new assembly hub but her previous one was still under warranty through the North Olmsted location. They replaced the hub, axel and ABS sensor which were damaged from the faulty hub. They also advised she had an extensive leak in her oil pan and she explained she had seen a lot of oil leaking recently. I, the mother, was so impressed that they didn't try to take advantage of her. She and I as well as her father now have a new mechanic, Todd Bamm. Thank you for being honest and fair.

Fraud Rebate Sales: This locations uses rebates as a tool to seel you tires but the rebates are rejected as they are not for the tires they sell you. Neither ntb credit or the store manager will credit my account even though through many and repeated attempts with calls and emails. The store manager took my credit card info to credit the account but has not done so. It has been 10 months with no resolution to this practice. Buyer Beware of shady selling practices with rebates at this location.

Go to Rad Air to get your car work done. 8 years, 4 cars, multiple tires, emergencies and routine maintenance are why I confidently say to just go to Rad Air in Fairlawn. I've auditioned the competition because a backup plan is always good to have, usually. Each time, I use a competitor, I'm reminded why this business is successful. Dave and his team are quick, honest and go beyond what I expected. They have the technology repair the machine and help explain what's wrong. The completion time estimates are very reliable. Cold February and no heat create driving problems. Another garage insisted on multiple visits and "attempts" to repair the problem. As each bill came due - the message was clear. I worked nearby and coworkers suggested Rad Air for a solution. In one try they permanently and affordably repaired the problem. From the heat in the car to the gearbox on the engine - brakes, oil, wiper blades and ..yes, the loaner cars, all needs are met. Depending on how close you work - you may get a lift back to work with your road test. Being a passenger in your own car can make the process easier. I've been towed in and limped in. Each time feeling the relief knowing the solution was near. When I broke down in Cleveland I was relieved to see the Garfield Hts location nearby. They do things THE SAME WAY! Jonny is Rick' s nephew who runs the shop now and he can do anything! $150 for rear gear set up, but you have to bring in the whole axle. Engine work is their primary trade and I see his crew working hard every time I'm there. They are a good humored bunch of guys too.

Went to Firestone, had their 'Lifetime Alignment' (BS), wanted to get my van aligned they wanted over $400 for misc front end repairs, I checked everything in my garage (I can't do computer alignments) I then took my van to Certified where they also inspected everything and had the alignment done in 45min. Firestone wanted to make some $, they didn't know I've worked on my own for over 30yrs, Certified did not try to stick me with a bill, they did the work and my fuel economy more than doubled. They are honest
