Brake repair service near Ridgeville, SC

I spoke with Ricks Auto about giving my car a valve job, setting the timing and welding the collectors from my headers to my exhaust on my restored 1968 Ford Mustang. Rick discovered that there were a couple of lifters that had came apart and needed to be replaced and I agreed I wanted them to fully inspect and make sure everything was good. So I ordered everything. After the repair and inspection he reassured me that everything was fine and there was no damage. Then on 14Jun10 I called Ricks Auto to find out what was going on and he said that the motor was to tight, so I went up there to find out what was going on and we determined that the motor was seizing up. He called me on 15Jun10 and said that the oil pump drive shaft had came out and they had been running the motor with no oil pumping to it. I had discussed with Ricks Auto that this was no fault of mine and that his shop had forgot to check it when they put the distributor in, Ricks Auto did not except the fault and put the blame on me. So I decided to swallow the money and just get it fixed he quoted me $1,700.00 to fix everything. On 21Jun10 I received a call from Ricks Auto and they told me that the crank and block were fine it just needed to be honed. Ricks Auto told me what size of bearings and pistons to order. So I ordered everything (total= $ 403.36). Then on 23Jun10 Ricks Auto told me I needed to pay the Machine shop bill $ 220.00. On 24Jun10 Ricks Auto said that the Crank would not spin freely in the engine so they was going to take it back to the machine shop. On 25Jun10 I called the machine shop to find out what was going on, they asked me what Ricks Auto was doing for me and I told them the whole story and they said that they told Ricks Auto that the block did not pass standards and the only way to properly fix it was to bore it and grind the crank. Ricks Auto's response was it's fine they were just going to put it together. the machine shop told me that they had never even received a crank to

Making it my business to leave a REAL review to as many sites as possible. This guy is not a real mechanic or business person. He is a backyard junkyard handy guy who owns a slop of a shop. there’s broken cars scattered all over his yard. He is DISHONEST and it’s quite deceiving when you first meet him but honestly don’t take your car to him. I never EVER leave reviews like this for business because I understand it isn’t easy making people happy but to conduct business through deceiving dishonesty is intentional ! So yes 1 star for you and I wish i could give a zero

BEWARE” if you get stuck on the highway and the South Carolina state police come to your aid to get you off the highway make sure they don’t call this garage for tow services. You will be stuck for days possibly weeks and they don’t know what they’re doing when it comes to repairing automobiles you will be abandoned and broke when they get done with you.Just look at their facilities they have more than one under different names they all look the same abandoned cars all apart scattered tru out the properties and they don’t buy new parts they use only used parts and have no clue on repairing automobiles they are just parts changers.And their is no hourly repair rates posted in any of their locations and they don’t believe in giving a customer a estimate on repairs before the work is authorized.Contacting South Carolina Motor Vehicle department filing a complaint.

I've used Charleston Import Auto for both service and parts. Always happy with the results. Quality service done right the first time. Same can be said for the parts. Top quality parts at reasonable prices. If you need British car parts or service in the Charleston area, this is the only place to go.

My truck is a 07 tundra, and rarely needs work, but when it does Shawn is my first choice! I would trust him with anything he says he can fix.

My son graduated from CofC and stayed in Charleston to work. On 28 Dec 2015, my son truck's brakes were completely gone, which required a tow and complete rebuild. I'm in Virginia and I spoke to the gentlemen at the Mount Pleasant location. It's after the holidays and money was tight. Hay tire understood our situation. Robbie Bryson is a genius of an auto mechanic, an excellent diagnostician with a very good reputation among the scientists of James Island. Keeps my old Integra VTEC engine running like a top! Everything from major maintenance like timing belt replacement, to emergency radiator replacement, to minor issues like replacing the battery. Prices are better than the competition, and he's willing to work on older models. Treats me like family, too. When I have car trouble he sees me right away, knowing that we're a one-car household.

NEVER take your vehicle to AA! Work is inferior at best, don't listen to customer concerns and generate additional issues with your car trying to scam more work!
