The guys at Knoxville Ultimate Automotive do fantastic work. They are honest about which repairs need to be done and which can wait. They never try to up sell useless services or anything your vehicle does not need. The Owner is ASE Master certified Technician and was among one of the top Honda technicians when he worked at the dealership. I would trust them to work on any of my cars and I recommend them to all my friends who have a Honda, Acura , Lexus, or Toyota. They even offer a free pre purchase inspection (by appointment) which is almost unheard of these days. Save the money and the hassle of the dealership and go see Ken and Steve. you wont be disappointed.

I have been to this shop several times with two different vehicles. A 99 Nissan Pathfinder and a 92 Ford F150. The employees here are professional and always happy to explain anything you need them to. They have always been upfront about cost, and they are won't try to force you into work you don't need. People who are worried that they will get up sold on something they do not need should have no fear with this place. They do their best to get the work done quickly as not to leave you without your vehicle long. Obviously this varies based on what you are having done, but like the issue with price, they will let you know ahead of time so that you can plan accordingly. The longest I went was one week, but I was having a laundry list of stuff done to the F150. It is a family truck that sat for years without use. If issues arise during your cars stay they will inform you promptly. I needed to have a piston removed from a connecting rod and a new piston put on. I had the parts and just needed someone to do the work. I called late on a Saturday and Jim (the owner) said he would wait for me to get there (which he did, he stayed at least 30 minutes late trying to help me). Once he started to look at what I had, he noticed that the connecting rod was bent (he was accurate, it was bent), he got on the phone and started calling around to locate another one. He found one at 1/3 the price that I could find one (he found it for $35.00 which included shipping I only found it for $116.00 which did not include shipping) and said he could have it delivered by Monday (which it was delivered by). He called me as soon as it was delivered and as soon as I got there with the other parts, he didn't make me wait, he put it together. When he told me the balance, it was for the part ONLY, he didn't charge me a dime for putting it together for me! When I reached into my purse to grab my checkbook, I realized it was missing, so I offered to pay with a debit card or credit card. Unfortunately, they don't accept them there, however, they didn't want to hold me up, so if you can believe this, in this day and age, they sent me on my way WITH the completed part and told me to mail them a check!!!! Not only did I find them to be honest, accurate, and affordable, I found them to be some of the friendliest folks around. While I waited for the part to be fixed, Jim had Biscut (his hound) show me her tricks (her Nascar trick was my favorite). I also had the pleasure of meeting Jim's father in-law (a real charmer). They have photos on the wall of some of the race cars that Jim has raced over the years (I found them interesting). These guys know their stuff, they have raced high performance cars for years and STILL do. Anything you need done, these guys are capable. Tipton's Garage provided us with excellent service!! They not only fixed my AC (and ACTUALLY fixed it) for a fair price, but they also did a quick check over to ensure vehicle safety! I would highly recommend this family-owned garage for vehicle repairs. I finally found a place that doesn't make me feel like I'm being ripped off.

THERE ARE STILL GOOD, HONEST MECHANICS OUT THERE! The service that we received during our visit to Jones Automotive was outstanding. David was the name of who we dealt with and he did an amazing job at handling our situation. We were driving through Tennessee on our way to Atlanta (and then onto Miami) from Michigan when our Jeep developed an intermittent shake coupled with the check engine light. We stopped in here to get an assessment of the problem, thinking that originally it may have been bad gas since the problem showed up right after a fill up. They pulled the code and took a look at the vehicle, they were able to determine the likely problem and also noticed the jeep was a quart low in oil. They told us, while the problem was important to fix, in their opinion we could still safely complete our trip to Atlanta that night and likely to Miami should we so choose. While he was confident that they would have been able to fix it, he didn't want us to be stranded so far away from our destination. He instead suggested we find a dealership to take it to as their turnover would likely be much quicker. When all was said and done they didn't charge us a dime for the assessment or the quart of oil they put in the jeep. Their honesty and excellent customer service was immensely appreciated, especially being so far from home. It is easy for shops like this to take advantage of out of state customers and we are so grateful that they did not. This experience is in stark contrast to the one we had in Delray Beach, FL after this, in which the shop did try to pull one over on us. We told the second shop what we were told at Jones Automotive. They ignored this and gave us a quote of over $4,000 for a completely different problem. The end result is that we shipped the car back to Michigan, had it assessed up here for the third time at a local dealership, where we were told the problem matched the original one we were told at Jones Automotive. Had we not stopped here first and had them look at the car, we likely would have believed the shop in FL and paid the outrageous price, but because of the honesty of Jones Automotive, our doubts in the second shop lead us to a savings of nearly $3,000 which includes the cost of shipping the car. Thank you so much again for helping us out when we really needed it, you guys are good people!
