I needed to have a piston removed from a connecting rod and a new piston put on. I had the parts and just needed someone to do the work. I called late on a Saturday and Jim (the owner) said he would wait for me to get there (which he did, he stayed at least 30 minutes late trying to help me). Once he started to look at what I had, he noticed that the connecting rod was bent (he was accurate, it was bent), he got on the phone and started calling around to locate another one. He found one at 1/3 the price that I could find one (he found it for $35.00 which included shipping I only found it for $116.00 which did not include shipping) and said he could have it delivered by Monday (which it was delivered by). He called me as soon as it was delivered and as soon as I got there with the other parts, he didn't make me wait, he put it together. When he told me the balance, it was for the part ONLY, he didn't charge me a dime for putting it together for me! When I reached into my purse to grab my checkbook, I realized it was missing, so I offered to pay with a debit card or credit card. Unfortunately, they don't accept them there, however, they didn't want to hold me up, so if you can believe this, in this day and age, they sent me on my way WITH the completed part and told me to mail them a check!!!! Not only did I find them to be honest, accurate, and affordable, I found them to be some of the friendliest folks around. While I waited for the part to be fixed, Jim had Biscut (his hound) show me her tricks (her Nascar trick was my favorite). I also had the pleasure of meeting Jim's father in-law (a real charmer). They have photos on the wall of some of the race cars that Jim has raced over the years (I found them interesting). These guys know their stuff, they have raced high performance cars for years and STILL do. Anything you need done, these guys are capable. followed up with owner as a result of an encounter he had today with my son who parked in the wrong lot. A note was left on our windshield, and the owner proceeded to express their anger and displeasure by physically pressing his chest into my son, holding the car door closed and then standing in front of the car as to attempt to not allow him to leave the lot. The assistant manager had to come out to encourage the owner to stop the aggressive behavior. My son called the police who followed up. When I went to follow up with the owner to determine the facts and a possible resolution I found the owners responses and insults consistent with someone who made a mistake and didn't want to admit it. This tells me and others alot about the owner and the business he expects people to patron. My advice is to consider other shops like CBA Christian Brothers Automotive a few doors down on Kingston Pike. I have done business there several times and your treated with professionalism and respect. Choices have consequences and since I was treated with the same behavior as my son was I felt compelled to review. Try CBA Christian Brothers Auto you'll have better results with less drama.
