Just had some repairs done to my 2008 Ford Diesel. I was quoted over a 1000.00 at another shop for repairs that were not even needed. Dorsett's saved me almost 350.00 dollars as the truck did not need what the other shop said it needed. These guys are VERY knowledgeable on diesels and the work was performed to my complete satisfaction! The staff is very friendly and I look forward to doing business with them in the future.

So I had my coil cracked for my spark plug case. Told them that's what it was because I could see the crack. So they spend 8 hours looking at other stuff. I get back in my car and now it's stalling. I can smell burning. Oh, did I mention they kept cranking and cranking my car over and over and now the check engine light is on. Yeah. So for two months, I keep emailing and going to get it fixed and they keep adding something different is wrong with it. Also, they fired their whole staff after my incident and so now they keep saying it wasn't them who worked on my car. So I go to a friend at GM and he says it could be two things. We change a few things out that he thinks they might try and pull and they did! So I tell them no, that's not it. They say nothing is wrong. So I email and a district manager calls and starts calling me a liar and an idiot and telling me I don't know anything. Never go there. Ever. They flushed my coolant and forgot to put the cap on and I found out after 5 hours of driving to another city. They forgot to put oil in my car after a change. Just don't go. Not worth it.

My skid control light came on on my 2014 Mercedes. Did not want to go to the Dealer so the local auto parts store in Webster recommended Gulf Coast Auto. I called them and scheduled an appointment, Wow nice shop, good crew and no run-around. Turns out wit was no biggy, in and out in less then a day for a fair price.

We took our 2005 ford focus to them to get repaired. I explained very clearly that I wanted the vacuum purge pump installed along with a pcv valve, change the oil and filter and replace the injectors. Also to make sure the vacuum hoses were correct and to install a new gasket kit on the intake. I was told I had a bad fuel rail pressure sensor and that was the cause of the problem. They replaced it, THEN was told it was a bad catalytic converter. I replaced that. They did not change the injectors but said they did on receipt. They did not change all the intake gaskets like I requested. They did not change the oil filter, and kept the one I provided. They were going to keep my injectors until I asked about them. I was told they have no way of figuring out the vacuum routing except from the pic under the hood. I'm not 100% sure they changed the oil, as it is dirty. Now I am told to replace injectors. They seem to just want to replace parts without finding out the root cause of WHY they need replacing. Dishonest. I now have over $400 in parts I didn't need and $200 in their labor and the car is exactly the same, if not worse. GO ELSEWHERE!!

I bought 2 new tires for the back. They rotate the front to the back and broke the stud from the front. They asked $50 for the stud then later let me know that while removing the stud they would need to replace the rolls which add $400. I asked my mechanic and he said there is no need to do all of that. The store does not allow me to take back the car. They asked $178 for the time they disconnect my front car wheel which i never asked and the car has to be tolled away. Once the car in their hand, they will find an argument that your car is un safe to drive and you cannot take it back. BE CAREFUL dealling with them unless you have time and prepared to call police.

I found the shop to be very clean and the waiting area impressive. The work they did for me was done on time and for exactly what they told me. I will be back!

DO NOT take your vehicle here for repairs unless you know EXACTLY what needs to be fixed. Firestone will do whatever it takes to get your invoice to at least a $1,000 total. I took my car in to have tires rotated, oil changed and car looked at for rough idle. Firestone ran a diagnostic and said I needed new spark plugs (the car only has 76k miles!). On top of this they assured me that I was in dire need of front brakes and rotors, but that the back brakes looked good...I thought, wow, how nice that they were honest enough to not scam me into all brakes and rotors being replaced. I went ahead with changes and my bill came to a little over $1,600. I drove off, the car still idled rough. I went back and got the fuel injection cleaning, but it still did not seem right. Only after a few full tanks of Chevron gas w/Tektron did the car seem to run smoothly. (Because of this, I question whether the $800 for spark plug replacement was necessary). A few months later (and only a few thousand miles later at best) the check engine light came on. We took car to local Advance Auto Parts who obtained code for us free of charge. We took the car to Firestone, gave them the code and also asked them to take a look at a rattling noise coming from exhaust--the heat shield. Based on the code they said we needed a smoke test. Once test was done, we received a call from them stating we needed Solenoid and Fuel Cap replaced. They also said bill would be around $300. We said ok. Once solenoid work was done, we received another call from Firestone who strongly recommended replacing rear brakes, rotors and Axle seals! I said, let me guess, this will total about $1,000. They gave me break down and sure enough, $1,000. I told them no thanks, to only fix engine light problem. They proceeded to call us back 2 more times stating it was dire we had these additional repairs made. We smelled something fishy and kindly declined the recommendation again and again.
