(continued..) package deal" -yeah whatever. I give him this look. He says $45 or you can take it somewhere else. I told him I'm taking it somewhere else. Moral of the story: avoid this place as they can't honestly set specs to the right model, they are over priced, they still try to nickel and dime you despite being over priced, they don't honor their scheduled appointments, and they don't honor their own verbal quotes; if they can't charge you on a package deal, the price goes up on a single item. I wasted my whole morning thinking these guys are some sort of good quality and in the end they treat their customers like trash. I did end up going down the street and getting my oil AND filter changed for under $20. I'll never go back to Midas again, and in particular don't trust anything Matt says or does.

City Garage is not just an auto repair shop. We aren’t just about getting an oil change, or brake repair, or transmission repair. At City Garage, we are about our customers. We are about DFW. We started in 1993 with a single location in Plano and today we serve 14 locations throughout the Metroplex. And we are not a chain; every single location is locally owned and operated. We grew from that one auto repair shop in Plano into what we are today because we don’t just work on cars, we work for you, our customer. Our goal for each customer that walks through our doors is to provide the very best service and customer care we can so that when you leave, you are happy with your experience. Whether you are in for a routine oil change or something much more complex like transmission repair, we will give you the attention and professional service we have come to be known for. Our ASE certified mechanics are here to make your auto repair a hassle free experience and we will never pressure you to get work done you don’t need or want. That’s just part of the impeccable ethics we demand from all of our employees. We are here to fix your problem and get you back on the road, not sell you services you don’t need. You can be sure your repairs are done right when you come to City Garage. I had my oil pan replaced 08-22-14 at C.A.R.S.-they were very professional and completed the job in a timely manner.I dropped the car off and they took me home and picked me up once the car was repaired. They are very service oriented and try to please each customer. I have used them in the past and would recommend them to my friends and anyone looking for a good auto repair shop.

78 Quick Lube and Tire

1.0(1)
712 State Highway 78 South, Farmersville

Yesterday I went and had my oil changed at 78 Quick Lube Farmersville TX. There was a truck in the bay in front of me and they said it would be about 5 minutes and they would be finished with it. It took the 45 minutes to change the oil in my car. When I went up to pay they explained the charges. So much for the oil change and extra for the extra oil. I questioned them and told them my car took 4 qts but I didn't know the exact amount. The owner walked up and was very cocky and argumentative. Stating that is what they system showed. I paid and drove home, got the book out and it says my car takes 4.75 qts of oil. I called 78 Quick lube and the manager answered the phone. I explained to him what had happened and he said "did you check the dipstick?" "It isn't overfull" When I argued with him that I didn't need to check the dipstick because my book said 4.75 qts. of oil he put the owner on the phone. He said the same thing "did you check the dipstick" I told him I didn't know which dipstick down there checked the dipstick but they didn't know how to read one because it has to be overfull because my car only takes 4.75 qts. and they put 5.5 qts. of oil in it. I then hung up on him because all he wanted to do was tell me not to yell and that i was wrong. My dad checked the dipstick and low and behold it was overfull. He called down to 78 Quick Lube and the owner got on the phone and admitted to putting to much oil in my car. He stated if I would bring it back down there they would drain the oil and fix it and refund my money. I took it back down there fully expecting the owner to be there but he had just left as I was pulling in.There again that told me how much my business meant to him. They drained "some" of the oil out and started to refill it. I told them i would feel much better if they would drain all of the oil out and refill it so I would know exactly how much oil was in my car. They told me the dipstick doesn't lie. Well it does because at first it

I took my car in July 2013 to get an alignment done and they told me that the bearings on the front right were bad and needed replaced. I got them replaced for $400-something for parts and labor, but after I left my car was making a noise when I turned to the right that made me uneasy. So a week later I took it back and they said they "put the hub on backwards" (which is impossible) but redid their service for free. So I left thinking that okay, they screwed up the first time but at least redeemed themselves. I was annoyed that I had to spend another 3 hours waiting on my car (I had waited 2 hours the first time they 'worked' on it) but at least they did it for free the second time because of their mistake. Now, in February 2014 I took my car in to a different shop and my boyfriend actually watched as they worked on my car (because he works there), and the bearing that Kwik Kar had replaced and put on there was so warped and the balls fell out as soon as they took it off. Kwik Kar did not do their job correctly and lied to me about it, I am EXTREMELY unhappy with their service and seeing what action I can take against them. The shop my boyfriend works at told me (and I am pregnant) that I could have had a very serious accident if I kept on driving.

DFW Frame and Alignment

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!  I needed an alignment on my vehicle. Called a few places and the one that seemed to have a better deal was dfw frame and alignment. The alignment was quoted at around $60 which seemed pretty decent. Little did I know that after taking my car in to dfw frame and alignment, it quickly went from $60 to about $600 worth of work and repair. On top of that, it cost $42.50 just to tell me that.....  without having anything done to the car!! Diagnostic fees... It is posted on the counter top handwritten on a piece of paper. But unless your looking for it,  you wouldn't catch it. Nor do they go out of their way to let you know there is a diagnostic fee. They wouldn't do the alignment unless I first replaced my front tire. Otherwise it would void any type of warranty with the alignment service I was needing.  They stated that my front two axles would need to be replaced as well which would bring it up to about $600. But never once was it ever verbally discussed that just from them taking my keys and getting my car on a lift to find this out would cost me $42.50. The employee did state however, that if I were to come back to get my axles done the $42.50 wouldnt be charged again for the work...... But it would NOT be returned if I got the tire replaced and came back the next day to get just the alignment done.  I did clarify with dfw alignment that had I had good tires,  they would have gone through with the alignment and not charged me the diagnostic fee. Doesnt make any sense to me. Bottom line, had they been a more upfront that there would be a fee regardless of any work being done, I might have considered giving them a try. It just feels sneaky to me really set the character of the place. I'd personally be more loyal with my business to a place that doesn't try to outsmart you or always give you the upsale. just good quality and trustworthy service. I'm still looking for one. But dfw frame and alignment is definately out of that category in my book.
