Transmission repair service near Richmond, VA

Gammon Transmission was recommended to me by a fellow coworker. called and made arrangements to have vehicle diagnosed. I had done my research and knew almost where the problem was and Andy Gammon was spot on. We agreed to a total rebuild with added extras to make tranny bullet proof. Mind you that this was a Chevy Silverado 2500 4WD. He did exactly what was asked and was very knowledgeable with upgrades, no hidden costs etc. After that I had a Chevy Tahoe that was giving me problems and had him repair that also. I tend to drive vehicles forever to at least 300k,and things wear out and break. Today's modern transmissions are complicated and you need a good shop like Gammon's to get you on your way! Also if you are fortunate to meet one of the original owners Mrs. Gammon, take time to thank her for being apart of the greatest generation

I would never recommend taking your vehicle to Heims Transmissions. The owner drove my truck around town and drove it to his home where it caught fire. He never called me to tell me my truck caught fire till I called the next day check the status on my truck. He put out the fire with a water hose at his home. He never called the fire department till the next day. If I never called him to check the status of my truck I would have never known it was totaled. I took the vehicle back to him twice because the services were never fixed correctly. He will not refund my money that I paid him. Poor customer service and obviously he did not know how to fix a truck.

I had my transmission repaired at Gearbox in Richmond Va. During the repair, they broke my transfer case and falsified the documentation stating that it was leaking when the vehicle was brought into the shop. They attempted to repair the transfer case they broke with JB Weld and when this failed they wanted me to pay them to fix something they broke because they were negligent. Buyer beware. I turned down Rob's offer thru the BBB for me to pay him a reduced rate to fix the transfer case he and his crew negligently broke.
