These guys are awesome Francisco has the best customer service he's staying after closing to solve a problem with my dad's ac. The cost isn't worth staying after but he goes above and beyond. Mel is a very reliable and honest mechanic! Goes over and behond to take care of his customers. Does outstanding work and completes his jobs in a timely fashion. Mel and his employees are very friendly, approachable and, knowlegable of what's taking place with your vehicle. On top of the great service you'll receive, you'll like his fair and reasonable prices. I've been patranizing Mel's Auto for over 5 years, with a 2000 SUV full service including a transmission rebuild to service on a 1974 Chevy pick up truck so Mel is all around when it comes to cars he deals with. Always customers in his lot!

Established in 1992. This business is a family owned and operated auto repair shop. In 1991 Alfonso Gonzalez left his regular day job as an auto mechanic to work on cars at home. Just having a couple of customers a day helped him pay the bills and his recently purchased home. In 1992 his amount of customers grew and was able to open his official licensed auto repair facility in the city of Hawthorne CA, for the next 5 years the businesses boomed from one bay to a 3 bay, 1500 square foot facility, not having enough room he was forced to move to a 2500 square shop in Inglewood, CA. Ten years later he moved to 1129 S. La Brea. Inglewood CA. with 10,000 square foot lot and 4 employees Universal Auto Service still offers great prices and an awesome customer service.

Very helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating. They should change their name because they do much more than just tuneups and lube jobs. And, as a bonus, they are quick and friendly. One of the employees even offered to give me a ride there and back when my car had to be kept for a few days.
