First let me say the African american manager I assume never greeted me. We had new tires and two alignments done and less then 6 months later the tire was half bald which obviously indicates the alignment was not done properly. As soon as my husband begin to question and ask about next steps we were immediately told to read our contract and we were basically "dumb" for thinking that should be pointed out. The manager said come back later and I'll do the rotation although you didn't read the contract over and over in an extremely patronizing manner. I have an 08 ml350 in good condition so if the work had been done right we would not need new tires less then 6 months later. More then that this gentleman is basically "yelling" at my husband as if he is not intelligent. My husband is an accountant of high intellect I then informed him not to contract me because we own a business and are aware of how contracts works. At the end of the day we do what is right for the customer not in a manner that demeans or patronized them. He begin to yell louder mock me say " I'm not dealing with you I assume because he did not want to be corrected by a women. This man was extremely unprofessional condescending. Funny thing is when the caucasian women went to get her car he placed her keys in her hands warmly and said have a beautiful holiday. But I did not even get a how are you today. Being in management for 17 years I have never personally experienced reverse racism. Guess there is a first time for everything. Please stay away from this place. If you can't please read your contract and you will be better served if your non black. Good luck and choose wisely.

A Godsend. My car broke down in LA while I was on a trip from N. Cal.. One call to Ray, a complete stranger to me, and my anxieties were put to ease. He took my car in right away and fixed it as good as new. Even though he could have charged me anything and I would have paid it, the job was done for less than the original, very reasonable quote. Let me tell you about JCW Auto Repair. On 8/9/2024 I was traveling from Berkeley CA after visiting my son, daughter in law and toddler grandson back to my home in north coastal San Diego. I had my 5 month old Corgi puppy with me, (she was a champ the entire trip). I noticed during the grapevine approaching the LA National Forrest the engine seemed to be working hard. I saw freeway signs recommending drivers turn off their AC during the steep grades and incline and I did so. Google maps redirected me to go through Pasadena to SD vs LA as LA rush hour traffic was slammed on Friday. Travel slowed considerably and I noticed my temperature gauge starting to rise in the stop and go traffic. I turned off the AC again, it was 107 degrees outside. Across the freeway from me was a Subaru car dealership, but it was now 5:01 and I know the service dept would be closed. I took the very next exit as I could see it was an industrial area and there had to be something there. I pulled over in some shade to let the car temp gauge to cool down. I saw the car repair shops were all closed. I thought about calling AAA, but what could they do other than tow me? I called my brother in law in SD, he had me pop the hood and check the coolant which was almost empty. He directed me to drive a few miles just west of my location to an O'Reilly auto parts store and he would coach me how to add the coolant. I started to drive about a block and found JCW Auto repair with the bay doors still open. It was clear everyone was closing up but stayed to help me. Jed immediately went to work, I popped the hood, he could smell the radiator heat. Jed immediately noticed my radiator cap was broken. I explained I had taken my Subaru to the dealership two days prior to my road trip to have the oil changed, tires rotated and the fluids all checked. Jed said the service department should have caught this broken radiator cap. Two jugs of coolant. Jed tried to find a used radiator cap that would work, he finally took one off his own personal vehicle that fit my Subaru. Jed cautioned me to drive the rest of the way to SD at normal speeds with no AC. It was blazing hot out there. He even gave me a jug of water if the temp gauge started to rise again and explained do not open the cap until it cools down. Jed seemed genuinely concerned and worried but felt I should be able to make it to San Diego if I take it easy. I asked Jed how much I owed him and Jed told me to give him whatever I thought was right. I am a widow traveling alone, I am beyond grateful for Jed dropping what he was doing to take care of me and get me on my way. He had along day at work and was ready to go home. Jed really saved me and my little puppy. He saved me an expensive repair bill or even my car breaking down on the freeway. I shudder at the danger of that. My sons and my family are exceptionally grateful too. It should be noted when I got to San Clemente I turned the AC on and the temperature gauge never moved from the middle center line. It was so chilly in the cabin my fingers and feet were numb with cold air. I would definitely, most assuredly take my vehicles to JCW Auto repair for all my service needs and might even drive to Azusa from SD for such quality excellence in service. This is the America I grew up in, where there was honesty, integrity and high moral character among our car mechanic professionals, where a handshake was considered to have as much value associated with it as a man giving his word of honor. My wife’s expedition blew a heater hose while at Coffee Bean with steam coming out from under the hood she drove next door to American Tire. The guys “T” as in Mr. T was very helpful, even assisting her a tow to the dealer through AAA (garages don’t typically assist you going elsewhere, but they were helpful). Upon arriving to assess the problem I realized the “new” heater hoses are not hoses at all but rather multisegment manifolds. I felt comfortable with everything explained, they confirmed that the parts were available and it would be done by the end of day and it was. Very happy with the service and how we were treated. 5 star all the way!

Star Auto Service is amazing. They really do the job right and take care of their customers. From the shuttle service to calling and giving me updates, I really appreciate their attention to detail. They even gave me a loaner car -- a Mustang which is considerably cooler than the minivan I left for repair. I've had a problem with an automatic side door that wouldn't stay open. The dealer spent an entire day and insisted I'd have to replace the whole door. I brought it to Star Auto and they were able to fix it for a fraction of the cost. We moved to southern California in 1992 and a couple coworkers recommended Wards to us. We started taking our cars there, and would never go anywhere else now. They are low key and never try to sell us something we don't need, they're friendly, reasonable, and happy to give us a ride to or from the house even though we don't live close to the shop. They have saved us money numerous times by telling us when something is still under warranty and could be fixed for free at the dealership; they could have done the work, charged us, and we'd have never been the wiser. But that's not the way they do business! Our daughter had car trouble on a trip and her car was towed to the nearest garage. She didn't understand what they were telling her needed to be done so she called Jim to ask his advice. He offered to call and speak with them himself and then explain the problem to her in lay terms and help her decide what to do--no charge for his time even though he got nothing out of it. Over the years, we've taken several different brands and styles of cars to them and they've never failed us. We wouldn't trust our cars to anyone else's care! They are the absolute top of their field.

Very helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating. They should change their name because they do much more than just tuneups and lube jobs. And, as a bonus, they are quick and friendly. One of the employees even offered to give me a ride there and back when my car had to be kept for a few days.

Probably the most honest place in town. I came because Econo Lube told me I needed new brakes which sounded fishy since they were about a year old. Came here and after a few minutes they said I didn't need them. They just needed some tweaking and cleaning. Boom! Worked like new, no more terrible noise, they wouldn't even take my money. The whole team is super nice. We've been here tons of times, they might not always be the cheapest game in town but they've got a customer for life. Erick Uribe
