The manager here comes off a little funny but being knowledgeable about cars myself, I chose to go here after sending my car to another place that claimed to be experts but wanted to charge me for a wrong and unnecessary problem. The mechanics at Independent fixed the actual issues with my car and now it's running very smooth. I found the mechanics to be great. Any negative reviews might be due to irrational costumes who see an old looking independent business and think they can get them to charge under price, then get mad and irrational when they don't. My parents had a housing appliance shop growing up and they'd get the same kind of bs from the locals.

As the Manager at this facility, I would like to take this opportunity to provide some information in regards to the previous post. The above customer came into our facility with two concerns. First, check a no start condition. It was a simple diagnosis, the starter had failed. We replaced the Starter, charged standard book time and the cost of a new, not rebuilt part. We even gave the customer a lifetime warranty on the part and did not charge a diagnostic fee. The second concern was to check a no heat condition. We verified there was no heat, and there was a noise coming from the dashboard area. I explained to Tony, this would require removal of the lower part of the dash board to diagnose and there would be a charge. It could be either an acuator, a blendoor, or even debris causing this condition. Tony declined. All the information was clearly marked on the receipt, in which, Tony had signed. I would be more than happy to repair the no heat condition on his old, high mileage vehicle, but he did not want it repaired due to cost. At AAMCO, we have been in business for over 50 years, and make customer satisfaction our number one goal.

Theo's car care is a rip-off!!! I took my car there because my friend said the owner was somewhat honest to him while inspecting his car, and because it's a small local shop so I expected lower charges. However, when I need to have a part replaced on my nissan, the owner asked for the same price as a Nissan dealer is asking, and, much higher than Goodyear!! He charged me $100 for inspecting, it took them FOREVER even after I told them my suspicion because it's a common Nissan problem that surprisingly hasn't been recalled on. The inspection cost $60 for my friend who has the same car and exact same issue at Goodyear. When it comes to labor, Theo's mechanic finished taking the part out and putting the new one in in about 1 hour, BUT, he charged me for 2 hrs!! When I told him my friend had it fixed for less, he said he doesn't believe me so I called Goodyear and had him talked to Goodyear, only then did he lowered the price a bit. When I got the bill at the end, it's almost the same as Goodyear's charge but I had a terrible experience. Terrible customer service and the owner is sleazy, rude, and ignorant, I would give him a -5 stars if I could.

Best experience ever. Perfect body work and sensor replacements after an accident. The electronics behave perfectly. Most important of all, no surprise expenses, no hustle. Everyone is super friendly there (thank you Stacy) and Frank is amazing. Thank you!

Ed and his employees put my car up on the lift right away. He diagnosed and fixed the problem in under an hour and gave me a more than fair price. I do not trust any other mechanic with my car since I found Wizard.

They are a bunch of liars and thieves charged us over $2700 for work they did not perform stay away a bunch of sharks I wish corporate would come down and investigate this put my vehicle on a lift compare the receipt to the work that they actually did liars and thieves they need to be put out of business I originally thought it was 1700 when looking at the receipt discovered it was 2700 besides that left all the Lugnuts loose on the front right tire only hand tight shame on you

Nicholas S 347-836-1574 - Logistics manager of this body shop had a customer car at his house in South Richmond Hill on June 20 at approximately 4:45 pm. His kid brother backed out of the driveway into my car while I passed by which caused damages to the right side of my car. The cops were summoned and statements were given. My insurance company made numerous attempts to contact this person with no success. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you!

I took my car to this place because I had non-working wiper blades. The mechanic did a diagnostic check and claimed that I needed to replace the entire fuse box and that it would cost me $400 plus $95/hr for labor. I suggested that he consider looking into the relay, instead, as the problem but he refused to check if the relay was the actual problem. He continued to put pressure on me to buy the fuse box immediately and when I told him that I found the fuse box online for $200 he dropped the subject. I decided to go with my instinct and order a relay online which only cost me $16. I left and went home. Once the relay arrived at my home, I replaced it and my wiper blades were working again. Its mechanics like the ones at this place that give the good and honest mechanics a bad reputation. He almost ripped me off for $500-600 and the problem was a $16 cost. If you decide to take your car to this place, do your homework first, and get ready to get ripped off!!! And don't be fooled by the smiles, they are a bunch of thieves!

The genesis of my complaint begun on October 28, 2018 when the BMW SUV owned by Mr. Albert xxxx and driven by his wife smashed into my car, a 2004 Toyota Camry, as I pulling into a parking spot. Mr. xxx prevailed on me to seek the good services of his friend’s car repair shop, 2 in 1 Auto Shop, on 1800 Coney Island Ave, Brooklyn, in lieu of seeking a police report. He represented that his friend’s car repair shop will give me discounted repair rates and offered to assist in the repair costs. He also claimed to own a leasing car company and could get me good deals if need be. I had driven my car to that shop the next morning, on October 29th, after changing the wheel the night before, and barely being able to drive it. The shop contacted me that afternoon and told me that the car has extensive damage and not worth fixing. He said that driving it is risky as the front driver side wheel might come off due to the impact of the crash. He further stated that there would be no diagnostic fees or any fees to pay, as Mr. xxx was his friend. I came into the shop after work and decided to ask whether I could leave the car over- night instead. I was afraid to drive it and planned to have it towed the next day. I asked for permission to leave the car on their property. I had no idea that the shop charges fees for over- night stay. The owner consented and said there would be no problems as Albert is their friend. I asked for a written assessment at that point. The written assessed cost of repairing my car was between $2665- $2990. After receiving this assessment, I contacted Mr. xxxx requesting that he share in the damages. Mr. xxxx then refused, claiming that he suffered damage too, and that he was not at fault. Realizing that Mr. xxxx will not share in any of the damages I incurred, I proceeded to call my Insurance carrier to try to recoup my damages from his carrier. The next morning, October 30th, when I came to the shop to pick up my car, I was told by the owners there were fees to pay. Stunned, I asked, “what fees?” “you said yesterday that leaving my car will not be a problem;” to which he responded, “this was before you called the Insurance carrier, and now that you called them, collect the fees from them.” The Car Repair Shop, 2 in 1, refused to release the car to me unless I paid this exuberant cost of over- night storage. Initially they requested $550 but the owner’s father reduced the price to $337.51 and promised credit for the amount- if I do body work on the car for $1,000 at their place. Shameful mobsters

Dealt with them several times and they could never diagnose a problem the first time. They make you fix and pay for 3 things before fixing the actual problem. They damaged the bottom of my car because the mechanic doesnt know how to use a lift. If you have a nice car and care about it dont take it there. I had to tell them to drop the car because i saw them damaging it. They did a wheel alignment on my car, 1 month later my tires wore out unevenly, i bought new tires and they woudnt even do the alignment over for free or at a discount. On top of everything they overcharge for everything. Overall these guys are not trustworthy.
