Auto inspection service near Newburgh, NY

I have been a customer of Dawson Motors for about 5 years and they have never disappointed me. But just recently they far exceeded my expectations! My work vehicle had broken down for the last time and it was time to replace it. Without my vehicle, I was totally at a standstill with my construction business. My van was towed into Dawson Motors at 8:45 am on a Saturday. I explained to Bill Dawson that I needed a reliable used van. By chance, he had one on his lot and I asked Bill to give me best deal, that without a vehicle I could not work. He got his wife Linda on the finance part, they made me an offer and I took the deal. My wife and I unloaded my old van of all the tools and supplies and headed home. At 2:30 the same Saturday afternoon Linda called me and said the van was ready for pick up! The Dawson's stayed late in order to get me my van knowing how important it was to my business. I could not have believed anyone would have done this, let alone our small town auto dealership. Not only do they have a highly qualified group of mechanics and a customer service oriented office staff, the owners walk the talk of helping customers way above expectations! MANY thanks! J. A. I had quite a bit of work done here over the last year, despite the relatively high prices. Bruce was very communicative about what they found and the work that they were doing, and that initially gave me a good impression. But with my most recent experience I am no longer a fan. When I had my car inspected last August they told me that I needed a new wheel bearing, which I had them replace along with quite a few other maintenance services for a $1000 bill. The wheel bearing failed earlier this year, which they replaced under warranty -- still a fan. Last week, that same bearing failed again when I was on the road a couple of hours away, and they were not receptive to discussing a warranty repair unless I had the car towed back to the shop. The new mechanic told me he didn't know how the bearing could have been replace properly in the past since there was an old bolt that was seized and clearly not removed, which suggests to me that I had two good bearings replaced with bad practices. Exactly the thing that I do not want from my mechanic. I am very disappointed with this treatment (and out another $400-500), and would not recommend this shop based on this experience.

Performance is as good as it gets. Need a car, reasonable? Coby has choices for you. Need service? Johnny will get you back on the road quickly and very reasonably. Our family goes nowhere else when it comes to cars. Sounds like we're related. We are not. Just have been dealing with Performance for over 25 years and about 6 or 8 cars for our family through the years. -Helen B

John and his team are the best there is! We would never go anywhere else. John is honest and trustworthy and cares about his customers. He always takes the time to explain to me whats going on with my car. He is kind and fair - a businessman with a huge heart!

I experienced problem with my exhaust system when out of town. When I returned late in the afternoon, I contacted North Road and they were able to get me right in and complete the repair quickly. Very experienced with common problems for my vehicle make. Great job.

Hello Everyone, I would like to share my repair experience with foreign auto repair service: Both Glenn & Lisa were consummate professionals during the entire process of troubleshooting my diesel Range Rover. They kept me abreast on the entire process, provided a thorough photo of all the work provided with photos of the work conducted allowed me to use their car while they repaired my car which is above and beyond generous. Glenn kept me posted through txt messages daily. They isolated the problem, worked with the warranty company on the repair cost ensured I understood what I was responsible for on the repair cost and returned my car back repaired. Thank you for the great service it’s appreciated. I will be back hopefully not to soon but when needed I will entrust you to work on my again in the future. Joe V. ??

They fixed my light and warranty my tire that the other chain store said they could not do. Thank you. Good job.

Needed state inspection and oil change. By the end of the service visit, they had managed to find $600+ in repairs to perform. When the car arrived at home, it was leaking oil. Upon returning the car to the shop, they stated it was just over-fill dripping (despite the fact that the oil was coming from a hairline crack in the oilpan. That leak continued until the next opportunity to get the car serviced. I made the mistake of returning to Goodyear 44-plaza to have the oilpan replaced. They took 3 days to do the service but didn't call on day 3. On day 4, they said, "we may not have called you yesterday but it was ready then." From the moment the car left the lot, it made a roar like something was connected incorrectly or like the muffler had been damaged. They said to bring it back tomorrow. I have taken my car here several times and this shop finds hundreds of dollars of service and repairs with each visit. More recently they have caused more harm than good. I will not be returning and I recommend you find a reputable service shop rather than visiting Goodyear.
