Clutch repair service near York, SC

Was a customer for years. They accept NO liability if jobs not done right. Couldn't get the U-joint snap rings to my rear drive shaft to seat. Took it to Randys for repair. Needless to say it left me stranded 2 hours from home. Got it to a repair shop and the tech brings me in and shows me where the U-joint snap ring(s) and a cap came out and also messed up my driveshaft. Called Randys to let them know what happened and Im broke down 2 hours away! Randys Service Manager starts getting loud. Says it was something I did. Nothing they could do. After arguing a few min he tells me he needs to speak to his boss to see if there's anything they could do. Asked if he would like to speak with the shop or mechanic where I'm broke down. He wanted no part of it. Never mentioned needing the old parts and was the last thing on my mind at the time. Randys service mgr. just didnt want to deal with the problem, wanted off the phone asap. So I took a bunch of pictures and had the shop document everything. Got a plan together where I was broke down and was able to patch it well enough to get me back home. Get back in town and go see Alex. Seemed like they were going to make it right. Four days later and no return phone call. I call again. Now the lady is telling me I need the old parts, then maybe they can see if anything can be done. Parts weren't the problem. Clearly the snap rings weren't seated correctly and the U-joint cap came out. They want no part of the pictures or documentation I have from the shop that worked on it. Now I'm stuck paying for a new drive shaft AND having the job done 3 times now. Just letting the people I don't know aware of my experience at Randys. Bad customer service and representation.

Came to my place of business. Found the problem, fixed it at reasonable price Pleasant to deal with. Knowledgeable. Honest. Really showed up local Ford dealership on price, knowledge, etc.

This is the only place I have ever taken my vehicle. I trust them to do the repairs and they always call me and tell me how much before doing the job. I was having an issue with my vehicle last week so I called Dale and he said stop by after I get off work. So I got there about 5:00 ,they close at 6:00. Mark was the person that looked at my vehicle and tells David, the owner, what the problem was and that it was going to take about an hour and half to fix. Knowing that I needed my vehicle and had no other way to travel. David, Mark, and Dale all agreed to stay and get my vehicle running again. Now the other problem, getting the part. David takes off in his own vehicle and gets the part that was needed while Mark takes out the old part. David gets back, Mark does his magic and my vehicle is ready. Now we are talking almost 7:00 and I was so happy I hugged each one of them. I was so thrilled that they would do this for me. This proves not all car repair buisnesse's will try to take advantage of women.You guys are the best!!!!!!

The fact that you found the actual problem when a service station could not and you got me on your schedule very quickly should be plenty to give you a great recommendation. As they say on TV ads - but wait! There's more!! Your prices were more than competitive and the work was done as promised on time and an exact cost match to the quote. Pros: Pleasant to deal with personal customer service rep. Cons: Immediately tried to upsell on things other than what I came in for. Explorer running rough, like misfire. Did not diagnose problem, did not run compression test, stated leak of antifreeze from one of the cylinders, though no history of leak or over heating. Suggested needed to take head off to troubleshoot problem. Suggested maybe crack in head. I paid for computer diagnosis of engine but no report provided. I did not go forward with repairs other than replace of plug wires which most likely needed. Called kid who ran his own shop. Came to my place of business. Ran compression check. Quickly discovered problem was spark plugs that Merchant Tire put in 6 months before was wrong plugs for engine (burn to hot). He put correct plugs in. $88 total, and car runs great! Lesson, don't assume dealership is more knowledgeable. Also, keep in mind customer service reps at dealerships are on commission! Shame, I was rooting for the dealership, but kid with dirty tee shirt and tattoos showed them up.Buyer beware....

I had a transmission replacement, the transmission is leaking fluid constantly. The service crew was unable to fix it. I have to jam the gear shift into park or the truck will roll off. They adjusted my carburetor and now my plugs are fowling out. They did a good job replacing the headers and exhaust pipes.
