Self diagnosing on web searches led me to expect a more costly repair. I initially set up my appointment stating what I thought was wrong with my car. After a short wait, I was told that I have cheap, noisy brakes! Thank you Greg and your staff for having the knowledge and integrity to fix the issue and not take advantage of me. As long as this shop is open, I will continue to drive well out of my way for all repairs and services.

MIKES DEALER ALTERNATIVE DID ENGINE WORK ON MY 2000 TOYOTA. I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE WORK QUALITY AND THE PRICE. I HAD SEVERAL BIDS ON THE WORK AND THEY WERE THE LOWEST BY FAR. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

They did it again! A drive shaft problem that somebody else said could cost $600-700, was fixed for less than $300! Bobby and Chris have kept my 74 Chevy Caprice Classic Convertible (the color of butter) running well for years -- without the huge expenses quoted by others. Heck, after the last fix, the rattle in the top was gone, too. Gotta remember to ask Bobby how they did that.

Myself and my family have lived in Dunedin for years, we know who the players are in this town for transmissions and brakes and all have been satisfied with the level of service from Shiftrite transmission for many years. They have the cleanest shop in town and their people are really honest and competent, I know them personally. I recommend these guys to all my family and friends because they are straight shooters. Any one who says these guys aren't the best and most trustworthy in the tampa bay area at transmissions and brakes - either have never dealt with Shiftrite or are their competition just trying to smudge them for their benefit.

Dale at tires plus at Oldsmar location had "recommended" transmission fluid change/flush, serpentine belt, air filter plus plus plus = $1800 in service. I received a call from Dale who notified me with "transmission fluid is black and burnt, air filter has sand and dirty, belt has bad cracks and ready to snap" "need new rotors (front) etc etc... vehicle has 95k miles on it. I had the transmission service flushed and serviced at Ford at 83k, I replaced the air filter 1k mls ago and belt replaced by Ford ~ 5k mls ago. I checked the transmission fluid and is pink, not gritty and smells fine=not burnt. Air filter is white, no sand and clear=see through it and has no debri. Belt has superficial cracks that are normal and definetly not a concern. Bottom line, this guy Dale is a crook. I had called cooperate, BBS and I am concerned for all consumers that go here for service.

These guys and at Ice Cold Air, S Westshore blvd in Tampa, are really great! I was down from out of town and they took my car in right away, told me what was wrong, and had it fixed in no time, so I can still enjoy my vacation with my family. Juan is great. He understood my situation and had no problem getting my car in. Jeremy the owner works really well with his guys. He was also understanding to my situation. He's a family man himself. When my local discount auto parts store was unable to install their replacement battery in my 2012 Focus, when I asked for a recommendation. Without hesitation they recommended Brothers, touting their honesty, fairness and comoetency. Such a reasonable charge and quick service, I honestly gave them a tip! Just week's later, faced with the 2009Ford Flex AC not working and bizarre behavior before a trip to see family. I was able to find a 3rd party part I suspected was the likely culprit. Ford would have marked it up and it likely would have cost me 2 to 3 times as much. I got the part overnight and to Brothers by noon. By closing time it was fixed and ready for pick up. Read the reviews on Google, I just did. And liked most of them. Any less than stellar review was rare and in my opinion unwarranted. Brothers is aptly named. Although they could easily be called Friends or Family, as it was a joy meeting 3 generations of family. Owner. Son and 6 year okd grandson., I found out just before leaving.

I searched everywhere to find someone I could trust. Tons of questions and costs for things to be repaired or replaced. All this was because of a prior visits to another place who just looked at it and told me it needed a new transmission. When I finally contacted Engines and Transmission I felt by just talking to them I was at the place I needed to be. They took the time to answer questions, they picked up my vehicle, they called me at different steps to inform me of what they found. I went from thinking that I was going to have to replace/rebuild my transmission to items that were done in a much faster time and what was really needed. Living on a budget and worried about the cost...........I can not thank them enough for being so helpful, kind and considerate. I will return for checkups on a vehicle I had only had for 5 months and knew nothing about - but now I do. To everyone at Engines and Transmission but especially Ashley, Kate and Jason.. I had been to 3 other shops and got estimates ranging from $500 to $1000 to repair my car. It had an overheating problem and no one seemed completely sure what would fix it. A friend recommended Foster's to me. I took it there and they were very professional but friendly and explained everything to me. I was a little worried because he said all it needed was a thermostat for $149.00 installed. But I let them fix it. I am very happy to say that it has been running fine ever since. I am so glad to finally find an honest repair shop and it saved me alot of money. I tell all my friend's and family to go to Foster's, they are the only ones I would trust with my car.

My daughter's truck broke down while at USF and Robert from RJL repaired it quickly for very reasonable cost. I live a few hours from Tampa, so I called him after finding his shop on this website. He even offered to tow her truck if it couldn't make it to the shop. He was honest and only repaired what was broke and did not try to con her into anything more. Thanks Robert, I'll refer all the USF parents I know to your shop from now on.
