I was stranded 50 miles from home and got my car towed here, I was a little nervous not knowing anything about the shop or the area. John was very nice and assured me that they would find out what was wrong, I wondered at what cost..The car was looked at and the cost was very reasonable, being a woman I was concerned they were going to try and overcharge me because I had no other option but to go there. Even though I live so far away I would definitely bring my car here again for service, a nice honest mechanic/repair shop is hard to find but this place rocked!

First of all, if I could give Murphy's 0 stars I would. Until 2018, I had received pretty good service from Murphy's. Had spent thousands of $ for car repairs on 2 older cars. On my '99 Durango, I had recently developed a coolant leak. Was using about 2 qts of coolant every 60 miles. Was getting a sweet anti freeze smell inside the car and noticed some coolant on the garage floor. Went back to them because they had previously replaced both hoses and the radiator. Figured that if they failed I might be covered by "warranty" or "good will". Needless to say, Chris called me and told me that the lower hose was leaking. They had replaced it, the first time, on 06-15-17. Second time failed on the Dan Ryan Expy in 90 heat. 2nd time was 06-23-17 with 92413 miles. Had to have it towed to Murphy's. Now, on 02-21-19, with 101762 miles, Chris told me that it was leaking because it had rubbed against the frame of the vehicle and a hole had worn thru. I asked him if the hose had moved and he said no. He said the repair would cost $189.46 parts and labor. He couldn't do anything about the price because it was "out of warranty". I told him the mechanic should have noticed that the hose was making contact with the frame or very close to it. He didn't say anything. He said they replaced the old Dayco brand hose with Gates brand that was bent better. I contend that I should NOT HAVE PAID ANYTHING for the repair because A. They were not conscientious when they replaced the hose the 2nd time and should have seen the frame contact or close to frame, and B. Warranty or not, hoses do not fail in 9349 miles. If I had known how this was going to turn out, I wold have never gone back to Murphy's. Thus I will never darken their doors again and recommend that nobody else does either. I asked a friend who is a mechanic/repair shop owner in Orland Park about this and I will not say what he said about Murphuy's. Orland Park is too far to go to from western burbs. Originally I offered Chris to maybe go 50/50 on this but he refused to budge. I am so aggravated about this and mistreatment of a long time customer I am now seeking 100% reimbursement of the $179.46 I paid.

I failed the Illinois Emission Test. I took my Bentley to a performance shop to be repaired. They quoted me $3,927.00 to replace the catalytic converter. I call Bentley Gold Coast and spoke to the service manager and explained my situation. He said no problem that component is covered by a 8 year / 80,000 mile warranty. He sent a flat bed and picked up my Bentley and installed the catalytic converter - all done at no charge. I had my Bentley back in 2 days. I recommend them to everyone I know. Someone recommended I go to this shop and what a disappointment. I don't know why people are so rude to potential repeat customers. I was going to have my truck looked at because the heat was not working but after a few minutes of speaking to the guy at the counter I realized I would not be going back there. He was rude and customer service is not his thing. I am not sure if the pimple on my colored face made him think I was younger than I am and he could use the tone he used or if it was just the fact that I was a black woman that annoyed him. Either way I will never step foot in that place again and tell others to never go there too. I hope that guy learns to be nicer to ALL customers because that is a part of your business.

I came in to get my tires rotated, I had a 2pm appointment and did not leave until 4pm! The lady told me it only takes 20 minutes. She came back saying that my radiator was pushing up against my transmission, which is physically impossible, my tires had a crack in them and tried to charge $500 for new tires plus $10 for an inspection. My check engine light was on and I took it to my mechanic and it turned out that they had actually loosened my mass airflow sensor! You can visually see that the screw was loose and unclipped. My mechanic adjusted it and my check engine light went off. And it turned out my tires were fine it had a nail in ONE of them and just had to be SEALED which took two seconds and cost me $10 at another tire shop! I don’t even need new tires! Don’t let these ppl rip you off! They had ONE job and tried to sabotage my car to make a profit!

This shop is under new management and he is a real jerk. He talks alot and really fast and treats customers like their bumbling idiots. I use to always take my car to this location for service...but not anymore. After my oil change, my car smelled like it was burning. I took it back and he just raised the hood and looked at it and said "it smells like a regular car to me". Then he dropped the hood and walked away and started talking to someone else...treating me like I was garbage. The 'check engine light' came on that same night I went to work!!! I had another mechanic check it the next day......I was told I needed a tuneup. The thing is...I got a tuneup 6 months ago from this same CARX!!! When I called the manager and told him, he tried to say that they didn't give me a tuneup...he tried to talk his way out of it but it's right there in the computer. He's a real prick. Then he tried to say it could be anything...as if the other mechanic AND the OEM reading are inaccurate. DO NOT go to this Car X location. They're overpriced and the service sucks.

I rarely write reviews even when work is bad, but these guys, these guys just topped the list! so, i was going to take my audi Q7 to my regular mechanic because smoke was coming out of the hood but not overheating. My guy already told me it was because of oil leaking on a hot manifold. But when i went to start it one morning to drive to the mechanic, the battery was totally dead! so i called a tow truck to tow it to my mechanic, and when the tow guy got here, he said he knows my mechanic and its expensive, says he knows a good place and then recommends these twats called Brighton automotive inc! He seemed like a honest guy and i know my regular mechanic kind of overcharges so im like cool, lets take it to these idiots! (But now i realize the tow truck guy is in cohorts with these idiots) If anybody recommends this place to you, say a BIG NO! because thats the trick! im sure he got a kickback. Anyway, we get to Brighton workshop and the old man (i pray he dies in his sleep tonight!) Bill checked it out, fixed the battery (although charged me $700 for new battery and replacement, thats ridiculous already) and then he checked out the main thing, why the car was smoking under the hood and said oh "its an exhaust leak blah blah blah" and he also said "But there is also an oil leak" im like yes i know that, but this smoke coming out the hood, that exactly is causing it? is it the oil leak or the other thing?, he said its the other thing "the turbos, exhaust something something" im like are you sure, he is like ABSOLUTLEY! im like, so if you fix this, the smoking will stop? he says "absolutely! 100% the smoking is not because of the oil leak! i have been working on this cars for many years, trust me , i know!". Im like cool, how much is it to fix, he gives quote of $2,000 im like wtf!!!!! but cool he seemed like a nice guy, old man, funny so im like whatever, fix it, as long has it will stop the smoke from the hood. he again assured me ABSOLUTLY, SMOKING FROM THE HOOD WILL STOP! He then keeps the car for a whole week! a whole week! and today i just went to pick her up and just before reaching home, YOU WONT BELIEVE IT, the smoke comes out of the hood again! like literally 10minutes drive smoke starts coming out (and before i came to pick it up, he said he drove it for 50miles to ensure no more smoking) which was clearly a lie because less than 10mins of driving, car started smoking again! i opened my hood and oil was leaking, clearly its the oil touching the hot manifold that is causing the smoke (like my guy said)! so whatever he fixed for $2,000 has nothing to do with the smoke coming out the hood because its still happening like i didnt just pay 2k for it to be fixed! and he assured it wasnt the oil leak causing the smoke! at this point im not even sure they fixed anything or put any new parts (they quoted me 1k for parts)! im going to be requesting for the parts bought invoice. And the annoying part, when i called to say "yo its smoking again" he was like " thats not possible! i tested it for 50miles, blah blah blah" .... then he starts laughing, this modafuka started laughing on the phone! Bill, you dont know me, you dont know the power of witchcraft, the amount of badluck that will fall on you when when i am done with you spiritually! i feel sorry for you! that 2k i paid you whatever you use it for it will bring back pain to you and your future generation!
