Transmission repair service near Dearborn, MI

This review is for Auto Center of Canton which I presume is the new name for this shop. I drove my 2000 Volvo S80 to get it diagnosed because the engine kept missing even after new parts were replaced. This took place on October 16th of 2019 and all I've been getting about this problem is the runaround from a mechanic named Rich. Initially I was told that the engine may need to be replaced with a price tag of $2700.00. I went out to the shop to put half of the deposit for the engine and then was told that the engine was fine, but it was the engine control module that was in need of repairs. Instead of Rich contacting me of the status of the module, I've had to keep calling and then Rich never calls back when he says. It's been over a month of waiting and this is unacceptable as my wife needs to be cared for and taken to her oncologist for cancer treatments at U of M hospital. At this point and right now, I want my car back with the original module and my $500.00 since nothing but waste time has been done. I caution anyone considering this place for repairs as they are just monkeying around and wasting people's time and money.

Worst experience ever. Got me in the door by saying "free diagnosis" then after the fact informed me that it would be $450.00. Found out later that the repairs had already been done to my car prior to my approval. The place is a TOTAL scam. When I finally got my car back (a week after they promised) it was in worse condition than when I took it in. I had to take it to a second place to have them fix the mistakes American Transmission made. Absolute biggest rip off ever. DO NOT GO THERE.

Every time I take my car there they are fast and they are both professional and helpful. What I like most about him is that the prices of fear some prices are much better I was pleasantly surprised. I take my car there often and will continue to do so. -Linda

I was given a verbal estimate of the costs to fix and the estimate was correct. They promptly went to work on the vehicle. I am always pleased with the amount of effort these guys put out in order to resolve the source of my problem. See you agin soon.

Went in for 4 ignition coils, my 2006 Passat was shuddering. After a test drive and diagnostic, Nick, the owner, said I only needed 1. I asked him to check my spark plugs, they needed replacing. I also think that I got to the bottom of a concern that I've had for a while. I visited Revive Auto Repair based on the 5 star reviews. I'll return based on my visit. The experience was fantastic. Nick is a calm, respectful, mechanic who is fair with his pricing and knows his Volkswagens.
