They have saved me tons of money- typically in situations where my dealership tries to upsell an unnecessary service not warranty covered. If you're tired of getting robbed for your automotive needs or getting less than you paid for - then this is the place for you. Lance and his small team of mechanics, while all being quite young - are the real-deal - they have turned their personal passions for Subaru (all models & generations) - in to a business - making them a real specialty shop for virtually all your Subaru Auto needs. Don't get me wrong, they are not a 1-trick pony though - they service virtually all makes and models... I've recently had them address various items on my '15 WRX, including the subject Clutch & Flywheel Upgrade, perform an EGR delete, swap plugs, weld/repair a broken exhaust flange plate (which I thought for sure was unfixable without a new plate - Warren is a talented Genius welder) & Tim is a talented Dyno Tuner, (thanks to dyno time at Chameleon Racing in Bohemia). The entire team at Larsen's are super friendly, happy to share educated advice, sharp at finding issues and remedying them - all without charging an arm and a leg. Super flexible too - one of the best experiences I've had with an auto shop in my life - I currently travel over 35miles just to get my car worked on by them... Are used to work at this place and the owner is not a nice person I tried to put my car in the Lyft to get an estimate and he would not allow that telling me to leave that you’re not spending money meanwhile it’s free estimates then he tried to charge my girlfriend $800 to change an O2 sensor in the back of the motor and I looked it up and it wasn’t even that O2 sensor it was the one in the front this guy is a complete rip off and not Nice person I advise everybody to avoid this place 100%

The manager here comes off a little funny but being knowledgeable about cars myself, I chose to go here after sending my car to another place that claimed to be experts but wanted to charge me for a wrong and unnecessary problem. The mechanics at Independent fixed the actual issues with my car and now it's running very smooth. I found the mechanics to be great. Any negative reviews might be due to irrational costumes who see an old looking independent business and think they can get them to charge under price, then get mad and irrational when they don't. My parents had a housing appliance shop growing up and they'd get the same kind of bs from the locals.

Super nice guy, and his mechanic and the girl they sometimes have there, which must be why they are so busy. Better to leave the car for the day rather than try to fit something in during lunch hour as it seems a lot of unscheduled requests show up then.
